JAKARTA | INDATANEWS.COM - Indonesia continues to accelerate the development of a more inclusive and productive digital ecosystem. Expanding access to technology, rising digital literacy among younger generations, and the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) mark a new phase in the nation's digital transformation. Yet, a key challenge remains: how to convert digital skills and access into sustainable economic opportunities.
The Indeks Masyarakat Digital Indonesia (IMDI) 2025 highlights that Indonesians are becoming increasingly connected and more digitally capable. However, the potential of this connectivity has yet to be fully optimized into tangible economic value. Emerging opportunities lie in digital content creation, startup development, creative careers, and the integration of technology into innovative business models.
Beyond Connectivity: A Shift Toward Digital Value CreationIndonesia's digital transformation is no longer solely about internet access and device penetration. The focus is gradually shifting toward empowering individuals to create, innovate, and generate economic value from their digital capabilities.
This transition reflects a broader national ambition: building a digital society that is not only connected, but also productive and globally competitive in the creative economy space.
Strategic Alliance to Strengthen the Creative EconomyTo address this challenge, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Adobe, and the Ministry of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia have entered a strategic partnership aimed at transforming creativity into economic opportunity through digital tools and AI.
The collaboration is designed as a comprehensive empowerment program. Indosat provides nationwide reach and youth-focused initiatives, Adobe delivers creative tools, learning resources, and AI-powered monetization programs, while the Ministry strengthens the ecosystem through policy support and talent development.
Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized that Indonesia's creative industry is rooted in intellectual property derived from cultural and societal creativity.
"The foundation of Indonesia's creative economy lies in intellectual property rooted in our culture and creativity. In the AI era, we aim to use technology to enhance human creativity, not replace it," he said.
He also noted that the partnership represents a strong example of collaboration between government and industry in preparing young people for global competition. The initiative is part of the ECHOES (Ekraf Creates Harmony on Education Sector) program.

Indosat and Adobe Drive the Next Generation of Digital CreatorsIndosat Ooredoo Hutchison CEO Vikram Sinha stated that Indonesia has vast creative talent, but access to tools and education remains essential.
"By combining AI, creativity, and collaboration, we aim to empower the next generation of creators and create real impact in their communities," he said.
Adobe executive David Wadhwani also highlighted Indonesia's importance in the global creative ecosystem. Adobe supports the initiative through expanded access to Adobe Express, learning programs, and new monetization models for creators. Indonesia becomes the first country to implement such a monetization program within Adobe Express.
Expanding Digital Education and Creative EcosystemsThrough the ECHOES program and initiatives such as GENSi (Generasi Terkoneksi), the partnership aims to equip young Indonesians with stronger digital skills, AI literacy, and creative industry capabilities. More than 10,000 participants have already been engaged.
The initiative also includes free access to Adobe Express for Indosat customers and AI-based learning content in Bahasa Indonesia, making creative tools more inclusive and accessible nationwide.
Toward a Fully Integrated Digital Creative EconomyThe collaboration between Indosat, Adobe, and the Ministry signals a shift from passive technology consumption toward active digital content creation with real economic value. By integrating creativity, technology, and monetization, the initiative aims to strengthen Indonesia's creative economy and prepare its workforce for the future of digital industries. (IDNC)
