ACEH TAMIANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Digital connectivity has become essential for many people during Ramadan. Besides engaging in spiritual activities, residents rely on internet access to stay connected with family and friends, access online services, and follow religious content digitally. Responding to this growing need, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has ensured that communities in Aceh Tamiang continue to enjoy stable and secure network services throughout Ramadan and leading up to Eid al-Fitr.
Beyond strengthening its technical infrastructure, the company is also expanding its social initiatives through the "Surau Berdaya" program, part of the #LebihBaikIndosat campaign aimed at supporting local communities.
Network Expedition to Maintain Service Quality
To ensure reliable connectivity, Indosat organized the "Ekspedisi Jaringan Andal #LebihBaikIndosat", a network expedition that traveled from Medan to Aceh Tamiang.
During the expedition, technical teams directly monitored network performance along highways, regional roads, and high-traffic areas. Special attention was given to local prayer spaces such as meunasah and surau, which have become important gathering points for residents following the devastating floods that struck the region in December last year.
The initiative reflects the company's commitment to transparency and service reliability, particularly during significant periods such as Ramadan and Eid when digital communication becomes even more vital.

Data Traffic Surges During Ramadan
Every year, Ramadan brings a noticeable spike in internet traffic, especially around the time of iftar and late into the evening.
Many users rely on mobile connectivity for video calls, streaming, social media activity, digital transactions, and accessing online religious content. To accommodate this increased demand, Indosat has strengthened its network capacity while utilizing real-time traffic analysis powered by artificial intelligence.
Agus Sulistio, Executive Vice President and Head of Circle Sumatra at Indosat, emphasized the importance of reliable connectivity during the holy month.
According to him, AI-based traffic monitoring enables the company to detect network congestion accurately and in real time, allowing capacity to be increased precisely where it is needed.
"In Aceh Province, we have restored more than 800 BTS stations affected by flooding, and currently 100 percent of Indosat BTS sites are back in operation," he said.

Strengthening Network Along Key Mobility Routes
To maintain high-quality service throughout Ramadan and the Eid holiday period, Indosat has implemented several strategic measures.
Technical teams monitor the network around the clock during the festive season. The company has also boosted capacity at priority locations and along major mobility routes where increased data usage is expected.
In areas with particularly high demand, mobile BTS units have been deployed to support the network. Through AI-driven data analytics, Indosat continues to optimize network performance to ensure stable and fast connectivity.
This approach allows users to make calls, send messages, conduct digital transactions, and access online services without disruption.

"Surau Berdaya" Supports Local Communities
In addition to enhancing its network infrastructure, Indosat is strengthening its social engagement through the "Surau Kita Berdaya" program.
The initiative supports 13 surau across several regions, including Aceh Tengah and Pidie Jaya, including areas that have experienced natural disasters.
One example is the renovation of Mushola Al-Ikhlas in Aceh Tamiang. The upgraded facility can now accommodate up to 500 worshippers and can also function as an emergency shelter for residents during disasters.
The program forms part of Indosat's corporate social responsibility efforts under the #LebihBaikIndosat campaign. By supporting religious facilities and productive activities surrounding them, the company aims to contribute to improving the quality of life for local communities.
Reliable digital connectivity, the company believes, not only facilitates communication but also strengthens community activities and social cohesion—especially during the sacred month of Ramadan. (IDNC)
