SUPPORT FOR THE KORMI MUSKAB: The Labuhanbatu Regency Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Agency (Disporabudpar) supports the implementation of the second KORMI Labuhanbatu Muskab on September 20, 2026. The event is expected to strengthen the promotion and development of community sports in the region.

LABUHANBATU | INDATANEWS.COM - The Labuhanbatu Regency Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Agency (Disporabudpar) has expressed its full support for the second Regency Congress (Muskab) of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) Labuhanbatu, scheduled to take place on September 20, 2026.

The support was conveyed by Head of Disporabudpar Labuhanbatu Syaiful Rahman Pulungan when he received Acting Chairman of the KORMI Labuhanbatu Caretaker Board Irwan, accompanied by caretaker member Edi Supanto and his team, for a discussion on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Syaiful praised the caretaker team for taking swift and structured steps in preparing for the Muskab. In his view, the event is highly important in revitalizing efforts to promote and develop community sports in Labuhanbatu Regency.

Regional Government Support for Community Sports

According to Syaiful, the regional government's support for community sports organizations is part of its efforts to encourage greater public participation in sporting activities. Therefore, the Muskab must be properly prepared so that it can elect a leadership team capable of implementing the organization's programs in a sustainable manner.

Caretaker Urges Orderly Administrative Records

Acting Chairman of the KORMI Labuhanbatu Caretaker Board Irwan urged all federations of community sports organizations (Inorga) to immediately organize their administrative records and management structures. This is one of the requirements for participating in the Muskab.

"We remind everyone that participation in the KORMI Labuhanbatu Muskab requires the submission of a decree (SK) confirming the composition of the Inorga management," Irwan said on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Irwan explained that his team, through the Steering Committee (SC), would conduct a strict administrative review. The process is intended to ensure that the management structures of all Inorga are properly documented and meet the requirements established for participation in the KORMI Labuhanbatu Muskab.

In addition to preparing for the Muskab, the caretaker team has already held discussions with Disporabudpar Labuhanbatu. The team subsequently continued its consolidation efforts with several Inorga management boards in Labuhanbatu. These activities are part of the preparation phase for the Muskab.

"We informed Disporabudpar Labuhanbatu about the planned arrangements and at the same time introduced the caretaker board for the Muskab. Afterwards, we continued internal consolidation with several Inorga," he explained.

The consolidation is an important step to ensure that all organizational elements understand each stage of the preparations and the administrative requirements ahead of the Muskab. The caretaker team must also ensure that organizations participating in the congress have a clear legal basis for their management structures.

SC: Process Will Follow Applicable Rules

Irwan emphasized that the Organizing Committee (OC) has the authority to establish requirements and eligibility criteria for potential candidates. Therefore, the SC will not interfere in processes that fall under the OC's authority.

"We do not interfere in anyone's affairs, and we will not allow interference either. We act in accordance with the applicable regulations," he stressed.

According to Irwan, there are currently 16 active Inorga registered with KORMI Labuhanbatu. This figure is part of a total of 52 Inorga management boards existing in North Sumatra.

Before the Muskab, however, the caretaker team will verify the existence of all registered Inorga. The verification will include examining the validity of the decrees confirming the composition of their management boards, as well as determining whether each organization remains active or has become inactive.

"We will verify the actual number of Inorga. This includes checking the validity of the SKs and determining which organizations are active and which are inactive," he said.

The verification is intended to establish clarity regarding which organizations meet the requirements to participate in the Muskab. In addition to ensuring orderly administration, the process is also part of efforts to improve the organizational management of community sports in Labuhanbatu.

Muskab Expected to Produce Responsible Leadership

Irwan expressed hope that the KORMI Labuhanbatu Muskab on September 20, 2026, will produce a definitive leadership team that is responsible and trusted. The new board is also expected to strengthen the organization and encourage all Inorga to expand their activities, continue developing, and achieve sporting success.

In Irwan's view, KORMI's role is not limited to organizing community sporting activities. The organization also plays an important role in fostering a stronger sports culture among the public. Therefore, the future leadership must develop programs that reflect the needs and potential of community sports in Labuhanbatu.

He also expressed his appreciation to the Labuhanbatu Regency Government through Disporabudpar for its attention to community sports in the region and for creating opportunities for their development.

"This is indeed what the Labuhanbatu Regency Government expects: for community sports to continue developing and growing," he concluded.

The regional government's support and the caretaker team's preparations are important prerequisites ahead of the KORMI Labuhanbatu Muskab. Through an orderly, transparent and rule-compliant consultation and election process, the event is expected to produce definitive leadership capable of managing the organization professionally.

The new board is also expected to establish close cooperation with the Labuhanbatu Regency Government, particularly in implementing programs to promote community sports. Such cooperation is important to ensure that Inorga are not only administratively active but also capable of organizing activities that encourage public participation and create opportunities for sporting achievements across various community sports disciplines.

As preparations continue to progress, the second KORMI Labuhanbatu Muskab is expected to serve as an important catalyst for strengthening the organization and promoting the targeted and sustainable development of the community sports ecosystem in Labuhanbatu Regency. (IDNC)
