JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi), in coordination with relevant authorities, is preparing traffic management measures to ensure the Presisi Merdeka Run 2026 in Jambi runs smoothly, safely and in an orderly manner. Police will temporarily close several road sections and divert vehicle traffic at various points along the running route.
The
Presisi Merdeka Run 2026 carries the theme "One Step, One Million Changes" and will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The main venue is the Lapangan Garuda area within the Jambi Governor's Office complex. Thousands of participants are expected to take part in the event.
Through the Jambi City Police Traffic Unit (Polresta Jambi), Polda Jambi will manage vehicle traffic on several road sections during the event. The traffic measures are intended to ensure the safety of participants while maintaining orderly mobility for the public.
Several Road Sections to Be Temporarily Closed
Police will temporarily close several road sections along the Presisi Merdeka Run 2026 route. The affected areas include the road from Simpang Karya toward Simpang BI, Simpang Empat Koramil Telanaipura toward the Governor's Office, Simpang Museum toward Simpang BI, Simpang Pulai toward Simpang Tanjung, and Simpang Tugu Juang toward Simpang Masjid Nurul Hikmah.
In addition to temporary closures, police will implement a system of alternating road openings and closures on other road sections. Personnel will adjust traffic management measures according to conditions on the ground to ensure the system remains effective and prevent widespread traffic disruptions.
Jambi Police Chief Irjen Pol. Krisno H. Siregar, S.I.K., M.H., through Polda Jambi Public Relations Chief Kombes Pol. Erlan Munaji, S.I.K., M.Si., said the traffic management measures had been prepared to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the Presisi Merdeka Run 2026.
"These traffic management measures are necessary to ensure the safety and protection of all participants and road users during the
Presisi Merdeka Run 2026. At the same time, we are making every effort to ensure that public activities and mobility can continue as smoothly as possible through traffic management and diversions at several points," Kombes Pol. Erlan Munaji said.
According to Erlan, the police operation will not be limited to traffic control. Officers will also provide information to residents who need access to areas affected by the traffic measures. Personnel have been deployed at several strategic points to prevent traffic congestion at an early stage and assist road users in finding alternative routes.

Public Urged to Adjust Travel Times
Polda Jambi is appealing to members of the public who need to travel through areas affected by the traffic measures to take the changed traffic conditions into consideration. Residents are also urged to pay attention to information regarding the traffic arrangements and use alternative routes recommended by officers.
"We appeal to the public to plan their journeys carefully and use alternative routes if they need to travel through areas affected by temporary road closures. Our personnel will be deployed at several points to manage traffic, provide information to road users and ensure that traffic flow remains under control," he said.
Police are also urging road users to follow the instructions of officers deployed at the scene. The public is asked not to attempt to pass through closed road sections, as doing so could disrupt the event and endanger the safety of participants, officers and other road users.
"We hope the public will understand and support these traffic arrangements. All personnel deployed in the field will make every effort to provide the best possible service and traffic management so that the event can proceed safely, orderly and smoothly. At the same time, the interests of road users will remain an important part of our measures," he added.
