Deli Serdang Hosts Al-Faiz Tahfiz Graduation Ceremony, Emphasizing the Formation of a Qur’anic Generation

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Government of Deli Serdang Regency has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening faith-based education by attending the graduation ceremony (Tahfiz convocation) and farewell event for the graduating class of the Islamic boarding school for Qur'an and Hadith memorization, Pondok Pesantren Tahfiz Al-Qur'an dan Hadis Al-Faiz. The event was held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, on Jalan Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Bandar Klippa Village, Percut Sei Tuan District.

Regent of Deli Serdang, Asri Ludin Tambunan, was represented on this occasion by Advisor for Community Affairs and Human Resources, Hanip Fahri, who delivered the official remarks and expressed appreciation to all parties involved in the educational process.

A Celebration of Dedication and Spiritual AchievementFrom the outset, the atmosphere was filled with emotion and pride. The graduates, who completed their studies in Qur'an and Hadith memorization, were accompanied by their parents, teachers (ustaz and ustazah), and the boarding school management. The ceremony marked the culmination of a long process of character building and intensive Qur'anic memorization training spanning several years.

Local Government Appreciation for Islamic Education EffortsIn his speech, Hanip Fahri extended appreciation to the leadership of Pondok Pesantren Tahfiz Al-Qur'an dan Hadis Al-Faiz, the teaching staff, and the parents who played a crucial role in shaping the young Qur'an memorizers (hafiz and hafizah).

He emphasized that the achievements of the graduates did not come instantly, but were the result of discipline, patience, and a supportive educational and family environment.

"The Tahfiz graduation ceremony is not merely a formal event, but a testament to the successful formation of a Qur'anic generation that is not only intellectually strong but also possesses noble morals and a solid character," Hanip Fahri said.

He further underlined the Deli Serdang government's view that Islamic boarding schools are a key pillar in human resource development, particularly in shaping a religious, educated, and character-driven generation.

Hanip also added that the local government will continue to support the development of religious educational institutions so they can grow and adapt to contemporary challenges.

Moral Message and Expectations for the Young GenerationHanip Fahri also stressed the importance of graduates maintaining and applying Qur'anic values upon returning to society. He expressed hope that the graduates would not only preserve their memorization but also live by the values they have learned in their daily lives.

"We hope the graduates will become role models in society and continue to uphold and practice Qur'anic values in everyday life," he stated.

He further reminded that today's youth face increasingly complex challenges, requiring a strong moral foundation. Hafiz and hafizah, he said, play a strategic role as agents of change within their communities.

The Deli Serdang government reiterated its commitment to supporting Islamic boarding schools through policy measures and partnerships aimed at producing competitive, religious, and high-quality human resources.

Outstanding Achievement by a Remarkable StudentOne of the highlights of the event was the achievement of student Aura Ramadhan Putri. The 17-year-old from Tembung Village successfully memorized the entire Qur'an, consisting of 30 Juz.

Her accomplishment was celebrated not only as a personal milestone but also as a source of pride for her family, the boarding school, and the local community that supported her educational journey.

Her success is seen as evidence that perseverance, discipline, and consistent mentoring can lead to outstanding achievements in religious education. It also highlights the important role of tahfiz education in shaping young character.

Hanip Fahri expressed hope that her achievement would inspire other young people in Deli Serdang to deepen their love for the Qur'an, learn it, and apply its teachings in daily life.

Broad Community Support for Islamic EducationThe graduation ceremony was also attended by members of the Sub-District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam), religious leaders, local figures, parents, and invited guests. Their participation reflected strong community support for Islamic educational institutions.

Prayers and well-wishes were offered for the graduates to continue living their lives guided by Qur'anic values. The event demonstrated a close collaboration between educational institutions, the government, and society.

Pondok Pesantren Tahfiz Al-Qur'an dan Hadis Al-Faiz is recognized as one of the institutions consistently producing Qur'an memorizers in the Deli Serdang region. Through a structured education system and intensive mentoring, it continues to develop graduates who excel in both religious practice and leadership qualities.
