BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Thousands of participants from various levels of education took part in a vibrant procession marking the Islamic New Year, 1st Muharram 1448 Hijriah, in Banda Aceh on Tuesday (June 16, 2026). The event created a deeply religious atmosphere along the route, filled with echoes of takbir and salawat from Lapangan Blang Padang, passing the official podium at Meuligoe Gubernur Aceh, and concluding at the iconic Masjid Raya Baiturrahman.

The enthusiasm of participants was evident from early morning. Contingents representing kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools showcased a wide range of creative performances. In addition to traditional parade formations, theatrical presentations, stage designs, and symbolic acts along the route drew strong attention from spectators.

Student Creativity Draws AttentionOne of the most eye-catching performances came from SD Islam Al-Azhar Kairo, which presented a unique camel-themed installation made of styrofoam. Two students creatively formed the body and movement of a camel through an elaborate costume, making the illusion appear strikingly realistic from a distance.

The performance also attracted the attention of Bunda PAUD Aceh, Marlina Muzakir, and Deputy Bunda PAUD Aceh, Mukarramah Fadhlullah. Both briefly stepped down from the official podium to take photos with the students and appreciate their creativity.

"It is impressive, creative, and extraordinary. The children, supported by their teachers, have produced remarkable works," said Marlina Muzakir, who also highlighted other artistic presentations, including depictions of historical figures such as Cut Nyak Dhien.

"Let us use this moment to reflect, evaluate ourselves, and strive for a better future. With sincere intention and goodwill, Allah will ease the path of transformation," she stated.

In total, 48 contingents participated in the parade, ranging from early childhood education groups to senior high schools. Each group consisted of at least 40 participants, presenting various Islamic-themed creative concepts such as Kaaba miniatures, poetry performances, religious slogans, giant Qur'an displays, and historical theatrical acts.

The event was also attended by numerous regional representatives, including government and education officials from Aceh. (IDNC)
