BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM – The Aceh provincial government has introduced a special service scheme for the 2026 Hajj season by designating the VVIP building at Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM) Airport as an exclusive boarding area for departing pilgrims.
Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah announced the initiative alongside the Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj (Kemenhaj), Arijal, following the readiness briefing for the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) at the
Aceh Hajj Embarkation Dormitory on Monday, May 4, 2026.

Fadhlullah emphasized that the Aceh government has fully repurposed the VVIP terminal at SIM Airport—previously reserved for state guests—into a dedicated facility for Hajj services. The initiative is part of a broader regional program led under the Mualem–Dek Fadh administration.
"This is a program of the Aceh government that prioritizes service quality for Hajj candidates," he stated.

Centralized Security Checks at Embarkation CenterAccording to Fadhlullah, all X-ray security screening for luggage and pilgrims is now conducted directly at the Aceh Hajj Embarkation Center. This system eliminates the need for additional checks at the airport.

The streamlined process is designed to accelerate departures while improving comfort and efficiency for pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land.
First Hajj Group Scheduled for Departure on May 5, 2026
Fadhlullah also confirmed that the first group of Acehnese pilgrims will arrive at the Hajj Embarkation Center on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 5, 2026, for an official send-off ceremony. Their departure to Saudi Arabia is scheduled for early Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026.
He further urged all Hajj officers to carry out their duties responsibly and maintain the highest standards of service throughout the pilgrimage operation. (IDNC)
