HAMPARAN PERAK CLAIMS OVERALL VICTORY AT DELI SERDANG FSQ 2026: Deli Serdang Deputy Regent Lom Lom Suwondo officially closes the 48th Qasidah Art Festival at the football field in Paya Bakung, Hamparan Perak Sub-district, on Thursday, 29 October 2026, while presenting the rotating trophy to the overall winner.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Hamparan Perak Sub-district has secured the overall championship title at the 48th Deli Serdang Qasidah Art Festival (Festival Seni Qasidah/FSQ) 2026. The achievement highlights the growing potential of Islamic arts and culture, as well as the creativity of the younger generation across the region.

Tanjung Morawa Sub-district finished in second place, while Batang Kuis secured third. All three sub-districts delivered impressive performances at the festival, which brought together participants from various parts of Deli Serdang Regency.

Deli Serdang Deputy Regent Lom Lom Suwondo officially brought the 48th FSQ to a close on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at the football field in Paya Bakung Village, Hamparan Perak Sub-district.

The closing ceremony took place in a festive atmosphere. The event began with the traditional beating of the large ceremonial drum, known as the beduk. Lom Lom Suwondo then presented the rotating trophy to Hamparan Perak as the overall winner. This moment marked the culmination of a festival dedicated to promoting Qasidah art and discovering young talent.

FSQ Strengthens Islamic Outreach and Regional Culture

In his address, Lom Lom Suwondo emphasised the important role of the Qasidah Art Festival in strengthening Islamic outreach and preserving artistic and cultural traditions within society.

He explained that the event also supports Deli Serdang Regency's development vision, which aims to build a healthy, educated, prosperous, religious and sustainable society. Religious arts, he said, must therefore continue to receive attention and support, as they form an important part of human capital development.

"This festival should continue to provide children and young people, particularly school pupils, with a platform to express their creativity and abilities through Qasidah art," he said.

He stressed that Qasidah was not merely an avenue for creative expression, but also a medium for conveying religious values, strengthening character and fostering a closer connection between the younger generation and Islamic culture.

Through events such as the FSQ, the regional government seeks to give children and young people opportunities to develop their abilities while becoming more familiar with the cultural heritage that has evolved within their communities.

Sustained Support Needed to Develop Young Talent

Lom Lom also highlighted the importance of providing continuous support for the talents identified during the competition. In his view, the abilities demonstrated by participants should be further developed through additional learning opportunities, regular training and participation in various competitions.

With systematic support, the FSQ should not remain merely a ceremonial event or a competition for awards. Instead, it should become part of a long-term development process aimed at nurturing a younger generation with strong abilities, a competitive spirit and outstanding achievements in Islamic arts and culture.

He expressed hope that the most successful participants would continue improving their performances and eventually represent Deli Serdang Regency in competitions at higher levels.

At the same time, Lom Lom encouraged participants who had not secured a place on the winners' podium not to lose their motivation. Rather, they should regard the competition results as an opportunity to evaluate their performances critically and as an incentive to improve further.

"Never stop learning and training. Regard the results you have achieved as motivation to perform even better in the future and bring honour to your parents, teachers, region and Deli Serdang Regency," he urged.

His message underlined that success at a festival should not be measured solely by the trophies won. The learning process, discipline, hard work and courage to demonstrate one's abilities are equally important elements in developing young talent.

Lom Lom also expressed his appreciation to all sub-districts and villages that had sent participants. He extended his gratitude to the organising committee, judging panel, sub-district and village administrations, religious leaders, community representatives and everyone else who had contributed to the successful organisation of the 48th FSQ.

FSQ Provides a Platform for Discovering Qasidah Talent

Earlier, Zainal Abidin Hutagalung, Assistant for Government Affairs and Public Welfare at the Regional Secretariat of Deli Serdang Regency, reported that all activities during the 48th FSQ had been completed successfully and without disruption.

He explained that the festival had several strategic objectives. These included developing Islamic arts and culture, increasing public interest in Qasidah art, and nurturing the interests and talents of the younger generation.

The FSQ also serves to identify promising participants with outstanding abilities in Qasidah art. The best performers are expected to represent Deli Serdang Regency at art festivals and competitions at higher levels.

The festival also demonstrates the importance of cooperation between the regional government, religious institutions, communities and educational establishments in ensuring the long-term preservation of Islamic artistic and cultural traditions.

By bringing together participants from different sub-districts, the FSQ provides young people with valuable opportunities to develop their abilities, build self-confidence and gain meaningful experience through fair competition.

The closing ceremony of the 48th FSQ was also attended by Asniar Lom Lom Suwondo, Advisor I to the Deli Serdang Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK); representatives of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda); the Chairman of the Deli Serdang Regency Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI); representatives of the Ministry of Religious Affairs; heads of regional agencies and organisational units; sub-district heads; village heads; religious leaders; community representatives; and other invited guests.

Hamparan Perak's overall victory brought this year's competition to a close. Beyond the sporting achievement, however, the festival is expected to strengthen the development of Qasidah art and nurture a capable, religious younger generation committed to preserving and developing the Islamic cultural heritage of Deli Serdang Regency.
