Regency-Level Festival Set for 26–29 October
The 48th Qasidah and Nasyid Arts Festival for Deli Serdang Regency is scheduled to take place from 26 to 29 October 2026 in Paya Bakung Village, Hamparan Perak District.
The schedule gives the selected participants time to strengthen their preparations. They are expected to improve their teamwork, refine their performances and develop their stage techniques in line with the requirements of their respective competition categories.
For Sunggal, the event will also provide an opportunity to showcase the results of local efforts to develop Qasidah and Nasyid talent. Their achievements could encourage more people to pursue their abilities and participate in similar events in future years.
Preserving Religious Arts and Strengthening Community Ties
Beyond competition results, the selection supports efforts to preserve Islamic artistic and cultural heritage. It also gives young people opportunities to learn about religious arts and develop their talents through constructive activities with cultural value.
The Sunggal District Administration hopes the festival will strengthen ties between villages and urban wards while fostering a sense of community through Qasidah and Nasyid music. The selection process also allows participants to exchange experiences and encourage one another to improve their skills.
Preserving religious arts requires support from government institutions, arts advocates, families and the wider community. Continued support can help Qasidah and Nasyid flourish and ensure that these traditions are passed on to future generations.
The district-level selection marks the first step towards determining Sunggal's representatives for the Deli Serdang regency competition. The district administration hopes they will deliver strong performances, achieve positive results and represent Sunggal with distinction at the 48th Qasidah and Nasyid Arts Festival.
By combining talent development, competition and cultural preservation, the event aims to strengthen the community's connection with religious arts and Islamic traditions in Sunggal. (IDNC)
