ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Teguh Siswoyo, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., has called on residents to work together to strengthen public security and order (Kamtibmas) while also promoting Takengon's tourism potential. He said that a secure environment and a growing tourism sector can go hand in hand, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the regional economy.

The call was made when Teguh attended the Suling Bambu event on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Jami'-Baiturrahman Mosque in Tetunjung Village, Lut Tawar District, Aceh Tengah Regency.

The event provided the Aceh Tengah Police Chief with an opportunity to deliver security messages to residents while encouraging them to create a safe and comfortable environment that supports economic activities. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation among the police, government, religious leaders, and the community in maintaining regional stability.

Kamtibmas as a Shared Responsibility

Addressing the worshippers, Teguh began his remarks by encouraging everyone to be grateful for their health and the opportunity to gather and perform congregational prayers together.

"We are grateful to Allah for the blessing of good health and for the opportunity to gather here and perform congregational prayers at Baiturrahman Mosque. This is something we should be thankful for," he said.

Teguh emphasized that the community plays an important role in maintaining security and public order. The police cannot carry out this responsibility alone, as a stable security situation requires the attention, responsibility, and participation of all elements of society.

"Let us build public security and order together. God willing, let us continue making every effort and praying together so that security in Aceh Tengah remains well maintained," Teguh said.

He called on residents to strengthen communication and awareness of conditions in their surroundings. Through collective efforts, potential security problems and social conflicts can be identified and prevented at an early stage.

In addition to maintaining security, Teguh urged residents to strengthen the spirit of mutual assistance and cooperation. In his view, community solidarity is an important foundation for overcoming various challenges, including potential natural disasters.

Promoting Takengon as a Tourist Destination

Teguh subsequently highlighted the connection between the security situation and the economic growth of the community. In his view, a safe and comfortable region can more easily attract visitors from other areas, creating positive impacts across various economic sectors.

He therefore called on residents to jointly promote Takengon as a tourist destination known for its impressive natural landscapes and hospitable people.

"Takengon is known as a tourist destination with beautiful natural scenery and friendly people. This is what we need to promote and share with others. We need to show that the people of Takengon are welcoming, so that visitors from outside the region will come and contribute to improving the local economy," he said.

According to Teguh, promoting tourism is not solely the responsibility of the government or tourism industry. Residents can also contribute by welcoming visitors and promoting the various potentials of Aceh Tengah.

He expressed hope that more people from outside the region would come to know Takengon, both for its natural landscapes and the hospitality of its people. An increase in tourist arrivals could provide local residents with opportunities to develop their businesses and increase their incomes.

Teguh also highlighted the diverse economic potential of Aceh Tengah, which could contribute to improving the welfare of the community. In addition to tourism, the region has important agricultural commodities such as coffee, chilies, avocados, and various other agricultural products.

He encouraged residents to continuously develop these potentials so that economic activities can continue to grow. In his assessment, economic growth and security are closely connected, as residents need a safe environment to conduct their economic activities and businesses.

Strengthening Disaster Preparedness and Mutual Assistance

In addition to security and tourism, Teguh reminded residents to further improve preparedness for potential disasters. He called on the community to increase environmental awareness and build a culture of mutual assistance when emergencies occur.

In his view, disaster preparedness cannot be ensured solely by emergency response personnel. Residents must also understand their surroundings and take the necessary measures to reduce risks in the event of a disaster.

The spirit of mutual assistance, Teguh continued, is an important component in building a resilient community. The police, together with other institutions, will continue striving to remain present among the people and provide tangible benefits to the community.

"The police and the community must work hand in hand to maintain security and public order, while also ensuring that our presence provides tangible benefits to the people," he said.

The Suling Bambu event also served as an opportunity to strengthen communication and relations among the police, regional government, units of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), religious leaders, community representatives, and residents. The presence of various community and government elements underscored the importance of synergy in maintaining security and supporting regional development.

Among those attending the event at the Jami'-Baiturrahman Mosque were Deputy Regent of Aceh Tengah Muchsin Hasan, Commander of Military District 0106/Aceh Tengah Letkol Czi Rudy Haryanto, Chairman of the Aceh Tengah Ulama Council (MPU) Tgk. Drs. Amry Jalaluddin, and Rector of IAIN Takengon Prof. Dr. Ridwan Nurdin, MCL. Representatives of the regional government, TNI-Polri, religious leaders, community representatives, and residents were also present.

The Suling Bambu event concluded with a religious lecture delivered by Dr. Tgk. Ramsah Ali, M.Pd. The event is expected to further strengthen relations between security forces and the community while fostering a shared commitment to maintaining security, developing regional potential, and improving the welfare of the people of Aceh Tengah.
