RECEIVES LPTQ BOARD: Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan receives the board of the Deli Serdang Regency LPTQ together with five participants who are ready to strengthen the North Sumatra provincial team at MTQ Nasional XXXI in Central Java.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Five of the best young participants from Deli Serdang Regency are ready to strengthen the North Sumatra provincial team at the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ Nasional XXXI) in Central Java. The participation of the five representatives is part of Deli Serdang's efforts to increase its contribution to the national Qur'an recitation competition while further strengthening the development of a Qur'an-oriented young generation in the region.

Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan expressed his direct support for the participants who will represent the region at the national competition. He urged them to maintain their physical condition, preserve their fighting spirit and make thorough preparations so they can deliver their best performances throughout the competition.

"Take care of your health, maintain your fighting spirit and give your best. You are not only representing yourselves, but also your families, Deli Serdang Regency and North Sumatra Province," Asri Ludin said on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, during a meeting with the board of the Deli Serdang Regency Lembaga Pengembangan Tilawatil Qur'an (LPTQ) at the Regent's Office.

The message was also intended to encourage the five participants to perform with confidence and demonstrate their abilities in their respective disciplines. The regent expressed hope that the participants would maintain consistency throughout the competition, ensuring that their participation would not only represent them individually but also bring pride to Deli Serdang and North Sumatra Province.

Number of Participants Increases

Deli Serdang's participation in MTQ Nasional XXXI reflects positive progress in the development of talented participants in the field of the Qur'an. This year, five participants from Deli Serdang have been given the opportunity to strengthen the North Sumatra provincial team.

The number represents an increase compared with the national MTQ held two years earlier, when Deli Serdang sent only two participants to strengthen the North Sumatra delegation.

The five representatives will compete in different disciplines according to their respective abilities and areas of expertise. Hanifatul Masthuro from Hamparan Perak District will compete in the women's Hifzil Al-Qur'an 1 Juz and Tilawah category.

Rizky Al Farizy, also from Hamparan Perak District, will compete in the men's Hifzil Al-Qur'an 20 Juz category. Muhammad Agus, likewise from Hamparan Perak, will compete in the men's Hifzil Al-Qur'an 30 Juz category.

Deli Serdang is also sending Mu'arif Gusdriansyah from Sunggal District to compete in the adult men's Qira'at Mujawwad category. Meanwhile, Ahmad Baroar from Hamparan Perak will compete in the men's Khattil Al-Qur'an decorative category.

The range of disciplines demonstrates that participant development is not focused on a single field. The representatives bring diverse abilities, ranging from Qur'an memorization and recitation to Qira'at and the art of Qur'anic calligraphy.

The large number of participants from Hamparan Perak has also drawn the attention of the Deli Serdang administration. Four of the five representatives sent this year come from the district. This is considered an indication of the considerable development potential at the district level while also opening opportunities to produce more successful participants in the future.

Strengthening Development of a Qur'an-Oriented Generation

The Deli Serdang Regency Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continuously developing a Qur'an-oriented young generation. The regional administration plans to strengthen cooperation with LPTQ Deli Serdang and other relevant stakeholders to ensure more targeted and sustainable development programs.

Asri Ludin believes that the participants' success at the national level should serve as an impetus to further expand development efforts across the region, particularly in areas with significant potential for producing talented participants.

"This year, Hamparan Perak District provides the majority of Deli Serdang's participants. This means we need to intensify development efforts there so that new talents can continue to emerge while also motivating other children," he said.

In his view, consistent development programs will give young people greater opportunities to further develop their abilities in the field of the Qur'an. The success of the five participants who qualified for the national level can also serve as an inspiration for other children and young people to confidently develop their potential and take part in various Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an events.

The Deli Serdang Government considers religious development an important component of human resource development. Achievements in the field of the Qur'an are not limited to the ability to compete in competitions, but are also part of character building among the younger generation.

Asri Ludin added that achievements in the religious field are one of the important pillars in building a young generation in Deli Serdang that possesses both intellectual capabilities and strong character. Religious values are expected to serve as a foundation for young people's lives and enable them to make meaningful contributions to society.

The participation of the five Deli Serdang representatives in MTQ Nasional XXXI in Central Java is therefore also expected to serve as an opportunity to showcase the results of development efforts carried out to date. The regional administration hopes the participants will use the opportunity to gain experience, demonstrate their abilities and achieve success for North Sumatra.

The regent's meeting with the LPTQ Deli Serdang board was also part of the regional government's effort to strengthen its support for the participants ahead of the competition. The government ensured that development and support for the Qur'an-oriented young generation would continue so that similar achievements can be repeated in competitions at various levels.

During the meeting, the Deli Serdang Regent was accompanied by Deli Serdang Regional Secretary Dedi Maswardy, Assistant for Government Affairs and Public Welfare Zainal Abidin Hutagalung, the Head of the Public Welfare Division, members of the LPTQ Deli Serdang board, and all participants who will compete in the event.

The five participants now carry the hopes of their region as they prepare to make their mark at the national level. Beyond the pursuit of competitive success, they will also represent their families, Deli Serdang and North Sumatra Province at MTQ Nasional XXXI in Central Java. (IDNC)
