DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Deputy Regent of Deli Serdang, Lom Lom Suwondo, highlighted the importance of religious tolerance and harmony while attending the Maha Puja Panguni Uthiram 2026 celebration at Shri Thendayudhabani Temple in Lubuk Pakam on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2026.

He also conveyed the message from Deli Serdang Regent, Dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan, urging all citizens to uphold religious freedom and reinforce the spirit of tolerance.

Deli Serdang government records a Hindu population of 2,985 people across 26 places of worship, including 21 temples.
Lom Lom reaffirmed the local government's commitment to supporting all religious and cultural activities that promote unity across ethnicities and faiths.

Eli Rosa Tarigan, Hindu advisor at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in North Sumatra, stated that Panguni Uthiram is more than a ceremonial event and holds deep spiritual meaning. She encouraged Hindus to celebrate the holy day peacefully while maintaining interfaith harmony.
