Lesson from the Kingdom of Saba'
Drawing from Islamic historical narratives, the preacher referred to the story of the Kingdom of Saba', once known for its prosperity and advanced civilization. However, its people were said to have neglected gratitude for divine blessings.
He explained that when the people rejected God's favors, their prosperity collapsed, symbolized by the destruction of the Ma'rib Dam, which triggered devastating floods that destroyed their gardens. The story serves as a moral warning that prosperity without gratitude is not sustainable.
The Eid gathering in Medan thus became not only a moment of worship, but also a platform for reinforcing moral awareness and social responsibility among the Muslim community.
