MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – Member of Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR RI) Commission X, dr. Sofyan Tan, officially inaugurated a new and significantly larger Rumah Aspirasi (Aspirations Center) building in the CBD Complex, Sukadamai, Medan Polonia District, on Monday (June 1, 2026).
The inauguration coincided with Indonesia's
Pancasila Day, highlighting Sofyan Tan's commitment to strengthening public services and community engagement across North Sumatra.
The official opening ceremony was marked by a ribbon-cutting event, followed by a traditional lion dance performance that attracted hundreds of residents, community leaders, and representatives of educational organizations from various regions.

Expanding Public Services and Community AdvocacyAccording to dr. Sofyan Tan, the new facility was established to increase the center's capacity to accommodate and address public concerns, complaints, and suggestions more effectively.
He described the
Rumah Aspirasi as a tangible manifestation of Pancasila values, particularly the principle of social justice for all Indonesians.
"We expanded this Aspirations Center so that we can serve more people and provide broader support to the community. This facility represents our commitment to safeguarding the rights and interests of citizens," Sofyan Tan said.
He emphasized that the center serves not only as a platform for public aspirations but also as a hub for consultation and assistance services, especially for individuals seeking support in education and social welfare programs.

Education Remains a Top Priority
As a member of
DPR RI Commission X, which oversees education, dr. Sofyan Tan reaffirmed that educational services will remain one of the primary focuses of the
Rumah Aspirasi.
The center will continue supporting students from underprivileged families, helping them gain access to quality education through scholarship and assistance programs.
"During my three terms in Parliament, we have successfully facilitated scholarships for approximately 720,000 students across Indonesia. These programs have reached more than 3,700 schools and higher education institutions," said the North Sumatra politician from the PDI Perjuangan Party.
The achievement reflects his longstanding commitment to improving educational access through various scholarship and educational assistance initiatives nationwide.
Improving Scholarship Distribution EfficiencyWith its larger, more modern, and comfortable facilities, the new Rumah Aspirasi is expected to improve the administration and distribution of educational assistance programs.
dr. Sofyan Tan expressed confidence that the upgraded facility will enhance the quality of public services while ensuring that scholarships and educational support reach beneficiaries more quickly, securely, and effectively.
