MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The news of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's martyrdom in a joint US-Israel attack has been confirmed by Ustad Muhammad Iqbal, a scholar from the Abu Thalib Islamic Foundation, in Medan on March 3, 2026. However, according to Ustad Iqbal, Iran is well-prepared to face the future without Khamenei, thanks to its solid system of government and capable ulama.
A New Leader Emerges
Ustad Iqbal explained that the Majelis Khubraghan, a council of esteemed ulama, will select a new Rahbar to replace Khamenei.

A System of GovernanceUstad Iqbal emphasized that Iran's system of government, based on the concept of Wilyatul Faqih, ensures the continuity of leadership.

Iran is not focused on individuals, but on the system," he said. The Majelis Khubraghan will carefully select Khamenei's successor, considering factors such as knowledge, personality, managerial skills, and leadership abilities.

Khamenei's martyrdom will have an impact on Shia Muslims worldwide, including
Indonesia. However, it will not weaken the
Iranian government.
"Iran has many capable ulama who can replace Khamenei," said Ustad Iqbal.
