MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Regional Executive Board of the National Awakening Party (PKB) of North Sumatra held a competency and eligibility test (UKK) for prospective district and city party chairpersons on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Grand Antares Medan. Among the participants, Julyadi Pulungan from Deli Serdang emerged as one of the notable figures in the selection process for future local party leadership.
The event is part of PKB North Sumatra's strategic effort to strengthen internal consolidation while identifying qualified leaders for its regional organizational structure.
Strengthening Party Structure and Internal Consolidation

Through the UKK, PKB North Sumatra applies a merit-based selection system that prioritizes competence and integrity in producing effective regional leaders.
130 Candidates from 23 Regions Participate

Out of 33 regencies and cities, 23 regions are participating in the UKK process, including Deli Serdang, which has drawn particular attention in the current selection stage.
The party aims to ensure that each region is led by figures who possess both organizational capability and strong local political influence.
Julyadi Pulungan Emerges as Deli Serdang CandidateDuring the selection process, Julyadi Pulungan was identified as one of the strong contenders for the chairmanship of the PKB Deli Serdang branch (DPC). He is known for his strong communication skills, extensive community networks, and a humanistic political approach.

He is also credited with strengthening internal consolidation and encouraging greater youth participation in politics.
PKB faction member of the Regional House of Representatives, Muniruddin Ritonga, stated that the UKK serves as an important mechanism for identifying the best cadres for leadership roles.
"Through this process, PKB has found a new way to recruit potential leaders. The participation of candidates shows seriousness and commitment to building the party," he said.
He added that the UKK is not merely an administrative formality, but also a platform to assess the competence, vision, and dedication of future party leaders. (IDNC)
