NOMINATION PAPERS SUBMITTED: H. M. Romadon Nasution, S.H., hands over his nomination papers for the position of Chairman of the Golkar Party’s DPD II in Labuhanbatu Selatan to the Musda IV organising committee at the party office on Sunday, 11 October 2026.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - H. M. Romadon Nasution, S.H., has officially submitted his nomination papers for the position of Chairman of the Golkar Party's District Executive Board II (DPD II) in Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. The submission forms part of the party's fourth district conference (Musda IV), which will determine the leadership for the 2025–2030 term. The return of his application documents on Sunday, 11 October 2026, marks a further stage in the selection process to determine the party's future leadership in the regency.

Romadon handed over his nomination papers, including the required supporting documents, to the organising committee at the Golkar Party's DPD office in Labuhanbatu Selatan, on Jalan Lintas Simaninggir in Kotapinang. Representatives of various affiliated organisations under the Hasta Karya umbrella, together with delegations from Golkar district branches across Labuhanbatu Selatan, accompanied him during the submission.

The Chairman of the Musda IV Steering Committee (SC), H. Saiman Siregar, personally received the documents. He was accompanied by Anas Efendi Harahap, representing the Organising Committee (OC). The handover forms part of the prescribed administrative process that all applicants must complete before the committee determines whether they qualify to proceed to the next stages of the district conference.

The committee is currently checking the completeness of the documents, whether the application meets the eligibility requirements, and the supporting evidence submitted. The outcome of this assessment will provide the basis for determining whether Romadon satisfies the requirements to stand for Chairman of the Golkar Party's DPD II in Labuhanbatu Selatan.

Committee Reviews Applications and Supporting Evidence

The Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Golkar Party's Musda IV in Labuhanbatu Selatan, H. Saiman Siregar, confirmed that the committee had received H. M. Romadon Nasution's nomination papers in accordance with the established timetable.

Saiman explained that the deadline for returning nomination documents was Sunday, 11 October 2026, at 4 pm local time at the Golkar Party's DPD office in Labuhanbatu Selatan. In addition to the application papers, the committee also received declarations of support from party representatives entitled to vote. Under the selection rules announced by the committee, candidates must demonstrate support equivalent to 30 per cent of the votes.

"Following receipt of the nomination papers, the Steering Committee will review them. The Organising Committee of the Golkar Party's Musda IV in Labuhanbatu Selatan will then announce whether the documents meet the requirements," Saiman told reporters.

He stressed that the review was a crucial step in ensuring that all applicants complied with the administrative requirements and the party's internal regulations. The findings would form the basis for determining which applicants could continue to the next stage of the nomination process at Musda IV.

According to the committee, two prospective candidates collected application forms during the nomination period. However, by the submission deadline on Sunday, 11 October 2026, only Romadon had returned his documents to the committee.

The selection process has therefore entered the administrative verification stage. Romadon is currently the only applicant to have submitted his documents before the deadline. However, his status as an eligible candidate for the subsequent stages remains subject to the outcome of the review and the rules governing the district conference.

The committee has not granted final approval solely on the basis of receiving the documents. Verification of the application papers and confirmation that all eligibility requirements have been met remain mandatory steps before the party can make a decision in accordance with its regulations.

Musda IV Scheduled for Convention Hall Grand Suma

The fourth district conference of the Golkar Party's DPD II in Labuhanbatu Selatan is scheduled to take place at Convention Hall Grand Suma, on Jalan Lintas Sumatera in Blok Songo, Sisumut Village, Kotapinang District. The event is an important occasion for internal party consolidation and the appointment of the new district leadership for the 2025–2030 term.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee, Drs. Kasmin Jamrin Ritonga, said Musda IV was expected to be formally opened by H. Musa Rajekshah, Chairman of the Golkar Party's Regional Executive Board I in North Sumatra. The committee hopes that all proceedings will run in an orderly and smooth manner, with every stage carried out in accordance with the established procedures.

"The procedure for submitting the documents will be decided during the Golkar Party's DPD II Musda IV in Labuhanbatu Selatan for the 2025–2030 term," Kasmin said.

His statement underlines that decisions concerning the submitted documents and the candidates will be made in accordance with the rules governing the district conference. Administrative verification is therefore a necessary step before the party body decides on the next stage of determining its leadership at district level.

Kasmin also explained that the Musda was part of the party's regular leadership transition process. During the conference, the incumbent board will step down in accordance with the applicable regulations.

The resignation of the existing board forms part of the organisational transition associated with such a party conference. This step creates the conditions for deliberations and the establishment of a new leadership structure in line with party regulations and the resolutions adopted at the Musda.

Musda IV is therefore not limited to the election of a chairman. It also provides an opportunity to strengthen the organisational structure of the Golkar Party in Labuhanbatu Selatan and coordinate its political and organisational priorities for the forthcoming term.

Romadon Cites Support from Within the Party

H. M. Romadon Nasution, S.H., meanwhile, confirmed that he had submitted his nomination papers to the committee before the deadline. He also said he had received support from several chairmen of Golkar district branches, internal party organisations and the Golkar Party's DPD in Labuhanbatu Selatan.

According to Romadon, this support forms part of his efforts to secure the position of Chairman of the Golkar Party's DPD II in Labuhanbatu Selatan for the 2025–2030 term. Backing from within the party's organisational structure is among the factors accompanying his candidacy. However, the rules and eligibility requirements established by the committee remain decisive.

Although Romadon has submitted his documents and referred to the support he has received, he must await the outcome of the administrative review. The committee is responsible for checking the completeness of the documents and determining whether they comply with the nomination requirements before deciding on the next steps.

By the end of the nomination period, two prospective candidates had collected application forms, but only Romadon had returned them, according to the committee. This development provides an overview of the selection process ahead of Musda IV. The final decision on his candidacy will nevertheless depend on the verification results and the party's internal regulations.

The Golkar Party's Musda IV in Labuhanbatu Selatan for the 2025–2030 term has thus reached an important stage in the process of determining its new leadership. The outcome of the document review and the resolutions adopted at the district conference will determine how the nomination process proceeds and the direction of the party's internal consolidation in Labuhanbatu Selatan.

For the organisation, the leadership transition through the Musda offers an opportunity to maintain continuity in its programmes, strengthen cooperation between different levels of leadership and ensure that party activities continue in accordance with the applicable regulations. All subsequent steps will depend on the conference's official decisions and compliance with the organisational requirements. (IDNC)
