SABANG | INDATANEWS.COM – Fish is recognized as an important source of protein and essential nutrients that play a vital role in children's brain development. Parents are therefore encouraged to regularly include fish in their children's diets.
Marlina Muzakir, the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Ambassador of Aceh, emphasized this message after distributing stationery packages and processed fish products to students of TK Negeri 11, SD Negeri 20, and SD Negeri 22 in
Sabang, Gampong Aneuk Laot, Sukakarya District, on Monday morning (June 11, 2026).
"Protein and especially omega-3 fatty acids found in fish are essential for children's brain growth. Regular consumption helps build neural networks, improves cognitive function, memory, and concentration, and also strengthens the immune system," she explained.

Promoting Local Fish Consumption (Gemarikan)As Chairperson of Forikan Aceh, Marlina highlighted that fish is easily accessible in Aceh, particularly in the island region of Sabang.

"Parents should regularly serve fish-based meals to their children," she said.
She also discouraged relying solely on imported fish such as salmon, stressing that local varieties like mackerel, tuna, sardines, catfish, and tilapia are equally rich in essential nutrients.

Marlina Muzakir reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening the Fish Consumption Promotion Movement (Gemarikan) to support a healthy, intelligent, and globally competitive generation in Aceh.
"A balanced and nutritious diet, especially through fish consumption, is a crucial step toward realizing Indonesia's Golden Generation 2045 vision," she stated.
Interactive Session with Students in SabangBefore delivering nutritional education, Marlina engaged directly with students through a short quiz session, including tests on memorizing short verses.
She expressed admiration for the students' abilities in
Sabang. "The children in
Sabang are outstanding; their memorization of short verses is very impressive," she said, encouraging them to continue learning enthusiastically.
