ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Traffic Unit of the Aceh Tengah Police, in coordination with supporting personnel, has significantly intensified night-to-early-morning patrols as part of efforts to maintain public order, safety, and smooth traffic flow across its jurisdiction. The operation targets vulnerable areas frequently used for illegal street racing, Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Patrols typically begin around 02.00 a.m. WIB and are designed with a preventive approach, while still allowing for enforcement actions when necessary. Officers closely monitor road segments commonly used by groups of youths during late-night hours.
Several so-called "hotspots" have been identified as potential racing locations. These areas are now subject to intensified mobile patrols to prevent unlawful activities that could endanger road users.
Officers conduct both mobile surveillance and strategic stops at key points to assess real-time conditions, ensuring no illegal racing activities take place.

They provide firm warnings about the dangers of
illegal street racing and emphasize traffic safety awareness as a key preventive measure.
This direct communication is aimed at building stronger awareness of risky behavior while fostering open dialogue between law enforcement and the community.
Commitment to Safer Traffic Conditions
Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., through Head of Traffic Unit AKP Aiyub, S.E., M.H., reaffirmed that routine night patrols reflect a strong commitment to maintaining safe and orderly traffic conditions.
Illegal street racing, he stressed, is not only a violation of the law but also a serious threat to human life and public safety.
"Routine patrols during night and early morning hours are a manifestation of our commitment to traffic safety. Illegal racing endangers not only participants but also other road users," AKP Aiyub stated.
The police confirmed that these measures will continue consistently, not only on a situational basis, to prevent repeat offenses and eliminate space for illegal activities.
