JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM – A warm and cooperative atmosphere marked a nighttime community engagement held in Pasir Putih, Jambi Selatan, on Friday (June 12, 2026). The event brought together residents and law enforcement in an open dialogue focused on strengthening public safety and social cohesion.
The Police Chief of
Polresta Jambi, Boy Siregar, engaged directly with citizens, local leaders, youth representatives, and community organizations, turning a formal visit into an interactive discussion on neighborhood security.
Strengthening Neighborhood Security Through Pos Kamling
During the meeting, Boy Siregar emphasized the importance of active community participation in maintaining a safe living environment. He called for the reactivation of Pos Kamling (neighborhood security posts) as a preventive mechanism against potential public disturbances.
"We invite all residents to work together in maintaining security in their neighborhoods. Reactivate
Pos Kamling and immediately report any public order disturbances," he stated.
He further highlighted that strong collaboration between the police and the community is essential to creating a secure and conducive urban environment in Jambi.

The initiative was also supported by various local stakeholders, including the Head of RT 08 Pasir Putih, M. Musli, and representatives from Senkom Mitra Polri Kota Jambi, Rahmat and Widodo, among others.
M. Musli expressed appreciation for the police visit, calling it a meaningful sign of attention toward residents' security needs, while Rahmat praised the approach as an effective model for strengthening trust between authorities and the community.
