Waisak as a Moment of Reflection
Waisak provides a spiritual opportunity for Buddhist inmates to reflect on their lives and personal transformation. During the observance, values such as peace, tolerance, self-control, and the commitment to change are reinforced throughout the correctional environment.
The 2026 Waisak theme, "Dharma Preserves World Peace," encourages individuals to deepen their understanding of Buddhist teachings and apply them consistently in daily life.
