LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Kampung Rakyat Police have stepped up efforts to combat drug-related crimes following the arrest of a suspected methamphetamine dealer in Perkebunan Perlabian Village, Kampung Rakyat District, on Friday evening (May 22, 2026).
The operation was carried out by officers from the
Kampung Rakyat Police Sector (Polsek Kampung Rakyat) under the
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Resort (Polres
Labuhanbatu Selatan). The
arrest underscores the police's firm stance against
drug trafficking, which is considered a serious threat to public safety and the younger generation.

Acting swiftly on the tip-off, officers launched an immediate investigation and surveillance operation.
Kampung Rakyat Police, Chief AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, representing Labuhanbatu Selatan Police, Chief AKBP Aditya S.P. Sembiring Muham, emphasized that there is zero tolerance for drug-related offenses.
"Once we received the report from the public, we immediately instructed the Criminal Investigation Unit to conduct surveillance and enforcement. There is no tolerance for drug crimes in our jurisdiction," AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis stated on Saturday (May 24, 2026).

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit IPDA Riswaldi Nainggolan, S.H., and his team conducted surveillance at around 7:00 p.m. local time (WIB) at a known gathering point. Officers observed a man behaving suspiciously by the roadside.
The suspect was immediately apprehended and searched. Police discovered a transparent plastic bag containing 2.01 grams of methamphetamine (locally known as "sabu"), along with an Oppo A5i mobile phone allegedly used in drug transactions.

Investigation Targets Alleged Supplier

Authorities have since launched a manhunt for the alleged supplier, who remains at large.
"We thank the public for their valuable information. Drugs pose a serious threat to the future of our youth and social stability. We will continue to act firmly without discrimination," AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis added.
The police urged residents to report any suspicious activity through the emergency hotline 110. The suspect and all seized evidence have been secured and handed over to the narcotics unit of the
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police for further legal processing.
