BATAM, Indonesia | INDATANEWS.COM – The Bengkong Sector Police have successfully solved a motor vehicle theft case (locally known as Curanmor) within their jurisdiction. The case was disclosed during a press conference held at the lobby of the Bengkong Police Sector (Polsek Bengkong), led by Chief AKP Tigor Dabariba, accompanied by AKP Budi Santosa, S.H. The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at around 07:00 a.m. local time in the Bengkong Aljabar area, Bengkong Indah Village, Batam City. The case quickly went viral on social media after a motorcycle vanished from in front of the victim's home in a quiet neighborhood.
The victim, a 30-year-old woman identified by the initials YLC, had parked her black-and-silver Yamaha Vega motorcycle by the roadside in front of her residence. The calm and sparsely populated environment allegedly made it easier for the perpetrators to carry out the theft unnoticed.
