LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kampung Rakyat Police Sector, under the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police, has arrested a suspected palm fruit thief in Dusun Poncol, Kampung Perlabian Village, Kampung Rakyat District.
The 24-year-old suspect, identified by the initials IM, also known as "Embek," was arrested on Thursday, May 14, 2026, during a targeted police investigation operation.

Kampung Rakyat Police Sector Chief AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, stated that the arrest reflects the police's firm commitment to combating crimes that burden the community, particularly agricultural and plantation theft.
The incident itself occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at around 5:30 p.m. local time (WIB) at the same location. The victim, BSP Sinambela (45), a resident of Dusun Sri Pinang, Perkebunan Tolan Village, reported the loss to authorities.

Following an inspection, the victim discovered that 25 bunches of palm fruit weighing approximately 180 kilograms had gone missing. The estimated loss reached around IDR 567,000.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of Kampung Rakyat Police Sector, led by IPDA Riswaldi Nainggolan, immediately launched an intensive investigation, which eventually led to the suspect's arrest in Pangkatan District, Labuhanbatu Regency.

The suspect has been taken to the
Kampung Rakyat Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Police also confirmed that patrols will be intensified in vulnerable plantation areas and urged the public to report any suspicious activity via the emergency hotline 110. (IDNC)
