LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – A 17-year-old teenager identified by the initials WK died on Thursday evening, May 14, 2026, following an alleged stabbing incident in Kandang Motor Hamlet, Aek Batu Village, Torgamba District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, North Sumatra.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 6:00 p.m. WIB and was allegedly triggered by a misunderstanding through a messaging application involving relatives of the suspected perpetrators.

Based on preliminary police findings and witness statements, the victim and a friend were passing by the residence of one of the alleged perpetrators when a stone was reportedly thrown in their direction. However, the object did not hit the victim.
The situation later escalated when the victim and his companion encountered several residents in Kandang Motor Hamlet. Shortly afterward, two individuals, believed to be a father and son, allegedly arrived at the scene.

Residents who witnessed the incident immediately contacted the police.
Torgamba Police Chief AKP Sunipan Gurusinga, along with officers, arrived at the location shortly after receiving the report. Police secured the crime scene, conducted an initial investigation, and questioned several witnesses.

Police later launched a search operation for two individuals believed to be involved in the incident. However, both suspects voluntarily surrendered themselves at the
Torgamba Police Station for further questioning.
Authorities also transported the victim for a medical examination at a nearby healthcare facility. The examination confirmed that the teenager died as a result of the stab injuries.

Investigators from the Torgamba Police Station are continuing an intensive investigation to determine the exact chronology and motive behind the fatal incident.
