LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Kampung Rakyat Police Sector is intensifying cooperation with local communities to curb the theft of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) of oil palm and combat drug-related crimes in Kampung Rakyat District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. The initiative was carried out through a communication and dialogue forum involving palm oil collectors and buyers.
The event took place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in the courtyard of the Kampung Perlabian Village Office and was attended by around 50 participants from the local community and palm oil industry stakeholders.
Acting on behalf of the Head of Labuhanbatu Selatan Police, AKBP Aditya S.P. Sembiring Muham, the Head of Kampung Rakyat Police Sector, AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, reaffirmed the police commitment to strengthening public security. During the event, he was represented by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit (Kanit Reskrim), Ipda R. Nainggolan.

Focus on Preventing Fencing and Palm Fruit TheftIpda Nainggolan emphasized that the public must not be involved in either stealing or purchasing stolen palm fruit.

Such actions are not only illegal but also violate moral and religious values and harm many parties," he stated on behalf of the police chief.
He further noted that palm oil theft causes significant economic losses and disrupts public security stability in the region.
Legal Awareness and 110 Emergency Hotline ServiceDuring the session, police also provided education on relevant provisions of Indonesia's Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), particularly those related to theft and fencing of stolen goods.

Responding to a public question, Ipda Nainggolan explained: "The 110 Call Center is free for all citizens. Every report received will be verified and immediately handled by officers in the field."

Ipda Nainggolan reaffirmed that police will continue to take firm action against both perpetrators and buyers of stolen palm products.
"We are making maximum efforts to pursue both thieves and buyers of stolen palm products in our jurisdiction. However, the success of these efforts greatly depends on community support and information," he said.

The public is urged to report any suspicious drug-related activities immediately, with guarantees of confidentiality for informants.
The event concluded in an orderly and safe manner with no incidents reported. Police described the meeting as an important step in strengthening cooperation between law enforcement, village administration, and the community in maintaining public safety.
