JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Jambi Police (Satresnarkoba Polresta Jambi) has uncovered an illegal ecstasy trafficking case involving two 18-year-old suspects identified as EPP and MA. A total of 12 ecstasy pills were seized during the operation.
The case began on Friday, May 3, 2026, after residents reported suspicious drug-related activity in the parking area of Trio Futsal, located opposite SMAN 4 in Simpang III Sipin, Jambi City.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Iptu Edy Hariyanto, officers immediately launched an investigation following the report.

The first suspect, EPP, was arrested at around 6:30 p.m. during a field operation.
During a search, officers found two blue ecstasy tablets bearing a frog logo hidden inside a Novem cigarette pack, along with additional supporting evidence.
In his initial statement, EPP admitted the drugs belonged to him. He said he purchased the pills from a man identified as MA for IDR 440,000, intending to resell them. He also mentioned another suspect, known as R, who allegedly acted as a supplier and is currently being sought by police.

Second Suspect Arrested in Mayang Mangurai
Following further investigation, police tracked MA to a residence on Jalan Lingkar Barat I, Perum Wijaya Mayang Mangurai Block D.01 RT 25, Kota Baru District.

MA confessed ownership of the drugs, stating he received them from a man identified as Farel, who is also currently on the run. He admitted earning a commission of IDR 10,000 per pill through a cash-on-delivery distribution system.
Ongoing Investigation and Legal Action
Police also confiscated several pieces of evidence, including a cigarette pack, plastic bags, an Infinix Smart 8 smartphone, and an iPhone 13 Pro.

Both suspects are charged under Article 114 Paragraph (1) of Indonesia's Narcotics Law No. 35 of 2009 and other relevant provisions of the Criminal Code (KUHP), facing severe prison sentences.
Authorities continue to pursue the alleged suppliers, R and Farel, believed to be part of a broader drug trafficking network. (IDNC)
