JAMBI| INDATANEWS.COM - The Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi) have reaffirmed their strong commitment to combating illegal narcotics after successfully uncovering a major drug trafficking operation involving multiple provinces.
During a press conference held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the main lobby of Polda Jambi, Police Chief Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar revealed one of the largest drug seizures in the region in recent years.
The event was also attended by the Director of Narcotics Investigation, Senior Commissioner of Police Dewa Made Palguna, and Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner of Police Erlan Munaji.

Authorities confiscated significant evidence during the operation, including 20 kilograms of methamphetamine, 20,241 ecstasy pills branded "Redbull" and "Kenzo," as well as Etomidate substances misused in vape form.
"This seizure reflects our strong commitment to supporting the national anti-narcotics agenda and the President's directive," said Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar. He added that the case represents an unusually large-scale drug bust for the Jambi region.

The investigation began after authorities received intelligence about a drug shipment passing through Jambi. On Tuesday night, May 5, 2026, at around 10:00 p.m., officers intercepted a suspicious vehicle on the Trans-Sumatra Highway at Kilometer 32 in Bukit Baling Village, Sekernan District, Muaro Jambi Regency.
A white Daihatsu Sigra was stopped, while a trailing white Xenia vehicle made a U-turn and fled the scene. Police pursued the escaping vehicle and attempted to halt it, including firing shots at its tires, but the suspect managed to escape.

Cross-Province Trafficking Network Exposed

The seized items included 20 packages of methamphetamine, 10 packages of ecstasy, and 16 packages of Etomidate. Investigators revealed that the drugs were transported from Pekanbaru to Palembang, indicating a cross-provincial trafficking route.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two additional suspects, KSA and YGN, on May 8, 2026, at a hotel in Bagan Batu, Rokan Hilir, Riau Province.
Four Suspects Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

Police confirmed that the investigation is being intensified in coordination with the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri).
"We will continue to dismantle this network, as the eastern coast of Sumatra and Riau are frequently used as transit routes," said the police chief, emphasizing that the drugs had not yet reached Jambi.
Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Erlan Munaji also reiterated the force's determination to eradicate drug trafficking and urged public participation in reporting suspicious activities. (IDNC)
