BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM – The Barelang Police (Polresta Barelang) have significantly intensified enforcement actions against the use of modified "brong" exhaust systems, illegal street racing, and unroadworthy trucks and trailers within Batam's jurisdiction. The latest enforcement results were presented on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the foyer of the Polresta Barelang Police Headquarters. The press conference was led by Police Chief Kombes Pol Anggoro Wicaksono, accompanied by senior officials from the traffic unit and public relations division.
Kombes Pol Anggoro Wicaksono emphasized that law enforcement efforts are being continuously strengthened to ensure safety, order, and smooth traffic flow across Batam.
Illegal street racing, often involving vehicles equipped with unauthorized loud exhaust systems, remains a primary concern. According to authorities, these activities not only cause severe noise pollution in residential areas but also significantly increase the risk of traffic accidents.
