BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM – The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bengkong Police (Polsek Bengkong), under the jurisdiction of Polresta Barelang, has arrested a 26-year-old woman identified by the initials TAPMS. She is suspected of stealing a motorcycle from the Happy Green Town residential complex in Bengkong District, Batam.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Polsek Bengkong, IPTU Apriadi, S.H., stated that the arrest was made following a theft report filed by the victim, identified as NS (32), a private-sector employee.
"After receiving the report, we immediately launched an on-site investigation," Iptu Apriadi said.

The victim had parked her motorcycle securely with the steering locked on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at around 9:00 p.m. WIB. However, by Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at around 12:00 p.m. WIB, the vehicle had already vanished from its parking location.
The stolen vehicle was identified as a black 2025 Honda Beat with license plate BP 5682 RJ. The estimated loss is around IDR 18 million.
Investigations Lead to Suspect's Location

On Monday, May 4, 2026, at around 12:30 p.m. WIB, police received information regarding her whereabouts at a rented boarding house in Bengkong Harapan Block E No. 03, Bengkong Laut Subdistrict.
The suspect was arrested without resistance and immediately taken to Polsek Bengkong for further legal processing. Authorities also secured the stolen motorcycle as evidence.
Legal Proceedings Under Indonesian Criminal CodeThe suspect is charged under Article 476 of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) on theft. She faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison or a Category V fine.
