BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM – Police in the Bengkong District, under the jurisdiction of Polresta Barelang, have arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of committing an indecent act and alleged sexual misconduct involving a minor. The arrest was carried out following a rapid investigation triggered by a public complaint.
The Bengkong Criminal Investigation Unit (Unit Reskrim), led by Chief Investigator Iptu Apriadi, immediately launched an inquiry after receiving the report on Friday, May 1, 2026. Officers conducted a crime scene investigation, interviewed witnesses, and secured the suspect for questioning.
Incident Occurred in Bengkong Kolam Rental Property

The victim, a 14-year-old girl identified by the initials ANA, was reportedly involved in the case, while the suspect has been identified as B (30), a private-sector employee. The complaint was officially filed by the victim's father, A (60).
According to preliminary findings, the victim visited the suspect's residence in the early hours of May 1, 2026, at around 00:30 local time, to return a previously borrowed motorcycle key. However, the suspect allegedly behaved inappropriately and exposed himself in an indecent manner in front of the victim.
After the incident, the victim left the location and later informed her family. That same evening, she was taken to the
Bengkong Police Station, where she provided her statement. Following this testimony, her father proceeded to file an official police report.
Evidence Collected, Legal Process Underway

Authorities also secured several pieces of evidence, including clothing belonging to both the suspect and the victim.
The suspect will be charged under Indonesia's Child Protection Law, Pornography Law, and other applicable criminal provisions. If proven guilty, he could face up to 10 years in prison, along with additional fines as stipulated by law.
Bengkong Police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting children and ensuring strict enforcement against sexual crimes. The public is urged to immediately report any suspicious or unlawful activities.
