BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM – The Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Barelang Police (Polresta Barelang) carried out a targeted enforcement operation to prevent illegal street racing and remove motorcycles equipped with non-standard or SNI-non-compliant exhaust systems from public roads.
The operation took place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain road safety, order, and smooth traffic flow (Kamseltibcarlantas) within the police jurisdiction.
Night Patrols and Operational Readiness

The objective was to monitor potentially dangerous traffic behavior, particularly during nighttime hours.
Between 11:00 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., officers patrolled roads under the Barelang Police jurisdiction, aiming to stabilize traffic conditions and protect the public from illegal street racing activities.

In addition to issuing penalties, officers also conducted public education, informing motorcyclists about the importance of using standard-compliant exhaust systems and carrying complete vehicle documentation.
35 Motorcycles Sanctioned for Violations

The action served both preventive and repressive purposes to reduce traffic violations and minimize accident risks.
The initiative also responded to public complaints regarding increasing noise pollution caused by "brong" exhaust systems and illegal street racing, which have disrupted community peace.
