THREE DRUG SUSPECTS APPREHENDED: Officers from the Jambi Police Narcotics Unit arrested three suspects for alleged possession and drug use. The raid was conducted at a boarding house in South Jambi on Monday, April 27, 2026.

JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Jambi City Police (Polresta Jambi) has uncovered a drug abuse and trafficking case involving three male suspects. Officers seized 1.66 grams (gross weight) of methamphetamine, locally known as sabu, during a raid at a boarding house in Jambi City.

The operation was initiated following a public tip-off regarding suspected drug activity at a kost (boarding house) located on Jalan Sumbawa, RT 34, The Hok Urban Village, South Jambi District. Acting on the information, investigators from Unit 2 of Satresnarkoba quickly launched surveillance and carried out a targeted raid at the location.

"We immediately responded to the information and conducted a direct inspection," said Police Public Relations Officer Iptu Edy Hariyanto, representing Jambi Police Chief Kombes Pol Boy Sutan Binanga Siregar.

Three Suspects Found Hiding in Bathroom

At the scene, officers apprehended three men identified by their initials SWW, AR, and AM. The suspects were initially found hiding inside the boarding house bathroom before being detained without resistance.

During the search, police discovered a transparent plastic clip bag containing crystalline substances confirmed to be methamphetamine. Authorities also secured three mobile phones believed to be linked to the case.

The suspects, aged between 25 and 28, are residents from different areas within Jambi City and Muaro Jambi Regency.

The third suspect, AM, stated that he collected the methamphetamine from the Talang Gulo area in Kota Baru District.

Ongoing Investigation and Legal Process

All three suspects have been taken to the Jambi Police Headquarters for further investigation. Laboratory testing of the seized evidence will also be conducted to strengthen the case.

Authorities are preparing to charge the suspects under Article 114 Paragraph (1) of Indonesia's Narcotics Law No. 35/2009, along with other relevant provisions under the national criminal code.

Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader distribution network behind the case. (IDNC)
