BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM – The Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of Polresta Barelang conducted an intensive hunting patrol operation targeting traffic violations across Batam, with a special focus on illegal modified exhaust systems known as knalpot brong, as well as vehicles lacking complete documentation and mandatory safety equipment.
The operation was led directly by the Head of Satlantas
Polresta Barelang, Kompol Afiditya Arief Wibowo, across several strategic traffic points within the police jurisdiction.
Focused Traffic Enforcement Across Key Intersections

The operation was coordinated by Kanit Turjawali Satlantas Polresta Barelang, Ipda Tino Desmawanto, to ensure targeted and effective enforcement of traffic regulations.

In addition to enforcement, police also conducted direct public education, adopting a humanistic approach—particularly toward motorists using loud exhaust modifications.
Drivers were urged to comply with vehicle standards and ensure they carry complete legal documentation at all times to improve road safety and order.

As a result of the operation, five motorcycles were sanctioned for traffic violations. Authorities also confiscated seven STNK registration documents from riders who failed to present complete vehicle paperwork.
Kompol Afiditya Arief Wibowo stated that the enforcement actions were a direct response to public complaints regarding increasing noise pollution caused by modified exhaust systems.

He further emphasized that similar operations will continue to be carried out regularly to maintain safe and orderly traffic conditions in Batam. The entire operation proceeded in a safe, controlled, and orderly manner. (IDNC)
