MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The psychological counseling center Discoverme has proposed a collaboration with the Indonesian Women Journalists Forum (FJPI) North Sumatra to develop safe spaces for women journalists through structured mental health programs.
The initiative was presented during an official meeting between
Discoverme and the FJPI
North Sumatra board in Medan on Friday, April 17, 2026. The
FJPI Sumut Chairperson, Khairunnisak Lubis, received the delegation alongside Deputy Secretary Irin Juwita, Head of Advocacy and Legal Affairs Meileandha, and members Agustina, Eli Marlina, and Sri Endang.
Discoverme representative Fachrizal Danil explained that the institution provides psychological services for children, adolescents, and adults, with a strong focus on women and youth. This focus aligns closely with FJPI's commitment to protecting women journalists.

Sharing Sessions as Safe Exchange SpaceFachrizal Danil outlined several forms of potential collaboration, including workshops, seminars, and dedicated counseling services for journalists facing high work pressures.

In addition, Discoverme runs a monthly "Support Circle," held at the end of each month, bringing together participants from different age groups. The consistent participation reflects a growing need for open dialogue spaces, Fachrizal noted.

She noted that FJPI has mainly functioned in an accompanying role and often relies on external institutions for psychological rehabilitation. The partnership with
Discoverme, therefore, marks a significant step forward.
Head of Advocacy and Legal Affairs Meileandha also stressed the urgency of structured mental support for women journalists, stating that psychological healing programs could help strengthen emotional resilience and recovery.
