LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Polsek Torgamba carried out a swift raid on a house suspected of being used as a methamphetamine distribution point in Aek Batu Village, Labuhanbatu Selatan, North Sumatra, on Thursday, April 16, 2026. However, no suspects or evidence were found during the operation.
Community Reports Spark Police Action
The operation was launched following reports from concerned residents who observed suspicious activities allegedly linked to drug trafficking in the area. The community described the location as a potential hub for illegal transactions, prompting immediate police attention.

The raid also involved members of the anti-narcotics organization GRANAT and local village officials.

Empty House Raises Suspicion

The situation has raised concerns that drug networks may be operating more flexibly, quickly relocating activities before law enforcement arrives. Despite the absence of findings, authorities stressed that preventive enforcement efforts will continue to be strengthened.
Authorities Vow Continued Crackdown
AKP Sunipan Gurusinga emphasized that every public report would be followed up seriously.

Aek Batu Village Secretary Syahrial also expressed concern over the growing threat of drugs within the community, calling for firm and coordinated action.
Meanwhile, GRANAT Labuhanbatu Selatan Chairman Rahmat Aruan praised the swift police response but warned that the issue has persisted for a long time and requires sustained intervention.
He urged residents not to fear reporting suspicious activity, stressing that timely information is key to law enforcement success.
