BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Barelang City Police (Polresta Barelang), through its Community Development Unit (Binmas), conducted an educational outreach program aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency at SMK Taruna Pelayaran Maritim Batam on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The initiative specifically targeted students, focusing on curbing illegal street racing and bullying—two issues that have recently raised public concern, particularly in the Bengkong area.
The program was led by Head of Binmas Unit, Police Commissioner Betty Novia, alongside Aiptu Indra Saputra, Aipda Gandra, and Bripka Chintya K. Wardani. They provided students with insights into the risks and consequences of negative behaviors among youth.

Addressing Illegal Street Racing Among StudentsAiptu Indra Saputra highlighted growing concerns among Bengkong residents regarding students who leave school during class hours and engage in reckless activities.

According to the police, illegal street racing has become a serious issue, prompting intensified preventive efforts through direct education and awareness campaigns.

Raising Awareness on Bullying and Its Impact

Students were educated on various forms of bullying, including its psychological and social consequences, as well as potential legal implications for perpetrators.
The session aimed to foster empathy, respect, and mutual understanding among students, encouraging a healthier and more supportive school atmosphere.
Promoting Discipline and Positive BehaviorPolice Commissioner Betty Novia expressed hope that the program would help shape disciplined and law-abiding individuals. She emphasized the crucial role of youth in maintaining social order and community safety.
