BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Sekupang Police have apprehended five suspects involved in a violent attack on a resident of Taman Asri in Tiban Baru, Sekupang District, Batam City, Riau Islands.
The Incident
The attack was reported under Police Report No. LP/B/IV/2026/SPKT/Polsek Sekupang/Polresta Barelang/Polda Kepri by the victim, DF (46), a local businessman, on April 1, 2026.

The child was not at home, leading to a dispute between SMP and the
victim. SMP then called four accomplices—RKP (24), KKM (26), OMP (30), and WS (22)—to the
victim's residence.

At around 5:30 PM, the group returned, resulting in a violent confrontation. RKP struck the victim in the face, followed by the other four assailants. The victim suffered facial bruising and body contusions.

The suspects were arrested and brought to the Sekupang Police Station.
Following investigations, all five were officially named
suspects in a case of collective assault (
Pengeroyokan). Evidence collected includes five pieces of the
suspects' clothing, a mobile phone, and a Visum et Repertum (VER).

The
suspects face charges under Article 262 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) for collective assault, carrying a maximum prison sentence of five years.
