ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - Police officers responded quickly to a house fire in Dusun I, Kampung Pendere Saril, Bebesen District, Aceh Tengah Regency, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m. WIB. The fire severely damaged the second floor of a two-story residence owned by 50-year-old farmer Salihin Aman Risa.
Officers from the
Bebesen Police Station (Polsek Bebesen), under the
Aceh Tengah Police Department, immediately headed to the scene after receiving reports of the fire. Working alongside three fire trucks and local residents, the emergency personnel sought to bring the flames under control and prevent them from spreading to other parts of the building and neighboring houses.
The fire was eventually brought under control by the emergency teams. After confirming that the flames had been completely extinguished, police secured the scene to prevent residents from entering the area affected by the fire.
Police Secure Fire Scene
Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Teguh Siswoyo, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., through Bebesen Police Chief AKP Dasril, S.A.B., said police personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving the fire report.
"We immediately sent our officers to the scene to assist with the firefighting efforts, secure the scene, establish a police cordon, and collect data and documentation," Dasril said.
In addition to assisting with firefighting operations, police officers established a security perimeter around the scene. They also recorded and documented the condition of the building after the fire had been extinguished.
The security measures were intended to keep the scene clear so emergency personnel could carry out further examinations without disruption. At the same time, police urged residents to stay away from the affected area while the operation was still underway.

Identification Unit Examines Fire Scene
Following the initial response, the identification unit of the Aceh Tengah Police Criminal Investigation Division continued the examination. Officers conducted a crime scene inspection and identification process to assess the condition of the building and determine the areas damaged by the fire.
Police also interviewed several witnesses. Their statements are being included in the investigation records to help investigators reconstruct the sequence of events before the fire broke out.
Investigators gathered various pieces of information at the scene that could help determine the cause of the fire. Police are still examining several possible causes and have not yet reached a final conclusion regarding the source of the blaze.
Police said the investigation would continue until the exact cause of the fire could be established. The examination of the scene is also an important step in securing information for the subsequent investigation.

Property Damage Estimated at Rp200 Million
The house owned by Salihin Aman Risa measures approximately five meters wide and 14 meters long. The two-story structure was built using different materials. The first floor is made of concrete, while wood was used for the second floor.
The fire primarily damaged the second floor. The wooden materials used in the upper section of the house allowed the flames to spread through the area, causing significant damage to the building's structure.
Police estimated the property damage at approximately Rp200 million. Although part of the building was destroyed by the flames, no fatalities were reported in the incident.
The absence of casualties was considered fortunate given the circumstances. Police officers, firefighters, and local residents were able to work together to contain and eventually extinguish the fire.
As of Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing. Officers continue to collect witness statements and the results of the examination at the scene to identify the factors that may have triggered the blaze.
