LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Narcotics Unit has uncovered two suspected drug trafficking cases within two days, resulting in the arrest of two suspected offenders and the seizure of evidence, including methamphetamine and 10 tablets believed to be ecstasy.
In the two operations, officers arrested RH, alias Roni, 29. Two plastic bags containing suspected
methamphetamine were seized from him, with a gross weight of 1.66 grams. In a separate case, officers arrested SRT, alias Atin, 45, and seized 10 tablets believed to be
ecstasy. The tablets had a total gross weight of 4.07 grams.
The two cases occurred at different locations. The suspected ecstasy tablet trafficking case was uncovered on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at around 10 p.m. local time at a café in Dusun I, Sidodadi Village, Kampung Rakyat District.
A day later, on Friday, September 4, 2026, at around 6:30 p.m., officers from the
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Narcotics Unit conducted another operation in Bangai Village, Torgamba District. The operation resulted in the arrest of RH, alias Roni.
The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief, AKBP Rosef Efendi, S.I.K., M.H., CPHR., through the head of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Public Relations Section, AKP Sujono, said the discovery of the two cases followed information provided by members of the public concerning suspected drug-related activities.
According to AKP Sujono, information from residents is an important basis for police in identifying and uncovering suspected drug networks operating within the community.
"We take every piece of information from the public very seriously. The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police will continue to take firm action and pursue investigations into any suspected drug trafficking that could endanger the future of our younger generation," AKP Sujono said, reaffirming the police chief's statement.

1.66 Grams of Suspected Methamphetamine and Digital Scale Seized
The investigation into the suspected
methamphetamine case began with a report received by police through the Dumas Presisi system. The report indicated an alleged increase in
methamphetamine trafficking in Bangai Village, Torgamba District.
The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Narcotics Unit subsequently followed up on the information. The team, led by IPDA Dapot Tua Simanjuntak, S.H., M.H., head of Unit II, launched an investigation to verify the information and identify individuals allegedly involved.
At around 6:30 p.m., officers observed a man behaving suspiciously at the location under investigation. The police then intervened and arrested the man.
The officers subsequently identified him as RH, alias Roni, a resident of Pasir Lancat Village, Ujung Batu District, North Padang Lawas Regency.
During a search, officers found a black-and-white wallet in RH's right hand. Inside the wallet, they discovered two plastic bags containing suspected
methamphetamine with a gross weight of 1.66 grams.
In addition to the suspected methamphetamine, officers seized a digital scale and a package of empty plastic bags, which were allegedly connected to drug trafficking activities.
Officers then examined other belongings carried by RH. In the back pocket of his trousers, they found a white Oppo mobile phone and Rp200,000 in cash.
During initial questioning, RH admitted that all the items found by officers belonged to him. Police then brought RH and the seized evidence to the police station for further investigation and legal proceedings.

Woman Arrested With 10 Suspected Ecstasy Tablets
A day before RH's arrest, the
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Narcotics Unit had already uncovered a suspected
ecstasy trafficking case at an entertainment venue in Dusun I, Sidodadi Village, Kampung Rakyat District.
The investigation began after police received information from the public about a woman allegedly involved in the regular sale and distribution of ecstasy tablets. The transactions were reportedly carried out at Café Pondok Santai Room 1.
The investigation team subsequently followed up on the information to verify the report. After gathering additional information at the location, officers conducted an operation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at around 10 p.m.
Police arrested SRT, alias Atin, 45, a resident of Dusun II, Sidodadi Village. Officers then searched the woman.
In SRT's right hand, officers found a transparent plastic bag containing 10 tablets believed to be
ecstasy. The seized evidence had a total gross weight of 4.07 grams.
In addition to the 10 suspected ecstasy tablets, officers seized a purple Oppo mobile phone.
During initial questioning, SRT admitted that the items found by officers belonged to her. Police then brought SRT and the seized evidence to the police station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The two cases demonstrate that suspected drug trafficking can occur in different environments, ranging from residential areas to entertainment venues. This situation highlights the need for increased monitoring and public awareness to help authorities curb the spread of illegal drugs.
The police do not rely solely on operations to uncover drug-related offenses. Information from members of the public often serves as the starting point, which is then developed through investigations before leading to action against individuals suspected of being involved.
AKP Sujono stressed that combating drug trafficking requires cooperation between the police and all sectors of society. The public is therefore urged to immediately report information concerning suspected drug-related activities to the police.
"Public participation is very important. Report any relevant information through the 110 emergency number. We will follow up on every piece of information, no matter how small, in accordance with applicable procedures. We want to ensure that the
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police jurisdiction does not become a space for offenders to carry out their drug business," he stressed.
According to AKP Sujono, combating drugs is not merely about arresting suspects and seizing evidence. Police efforts are also part of protecting families and the younger generation from the dangers of drug abuse.
The public is therefore urged not to remain passive when signs of
drug trafficking or distribution are detected in their surroundings. Vigilance among residents can help police respond more quickly to suspected illegal activities.
"We appeal to the public to work together to create a safe environment. Do not allow drugs to destroy our children's future. The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police will continue to strengthen prevention efforts and take firm action against drug-related crimes," AKP Sujono said in closing.
