ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - Nine officers from the Rapid Response Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division (Satreskrim) of the Aceh Tengah Police have conducted nighttime patrols at several road sections and areas considered particularly vulnerable. The operation was aimed at preventing conventional crime and street crime while strengthening police presence among the community.
The patrol began on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. local time (WIB) and continued until the operation ended. The officers operated mobile patrols and inspected several road areas and parking lots identified through a vulnerability assessment as having an increased risk of disturbances to
public security and order.
The police did not conduct the patrols randomly. Before the operation began, officers first mapped areas where potential security disturbances could occur. This strategy helps police identify areas requiring greater attention and conduct patrols in a targeted and effective manner.
Police Intensify Patrols During High-Risk Hours
Nighttime patrols are among the preventive measures implemented by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Aceh Tengah Police to reduce opportunities for criminal activity. The presence of officers at several vulnerable locations is also intended to provide a greater sense of security to residents, particularly those who remain active or travel at night.
During the operation, officers monitored areas that had previously been included in the vulnerability mapping. Police also urged motorcycle and car drivers to remain particularly vigilant while traveling and carrying out activities at night.
The vulnerability mapping also provides police with an overview of security conditions across different areas. Based on this information, officers can determine which locations require particular attention during subsequent patrol operations.

nighttime patrols were a preventive measure aimed at reducing opportunities for criminal activity.
"This patrol is a preventive measure. Officers monitor locations classified as vulnerable and ensure that the presence of police can be felt by the community, particularly at night," he said.

Community Urged to Help Maintain Security
AKP Abdul Mutakhir emphasized that maintaining security in the surrounding environment does not depend solely on police presence. The community also plays an important role in preventing potential disturbances to
public security and order.
He urged residents to remain alert to conditions in their surroundings and develop greater awareness of activities taking place near their homes and in areas where they travel or carry out their daily activities.
Residents were also encouraged to immediately report suspicious activities to the police. Information from the public can help officers identify potential security disturbances at an early stage and take the necessary action.
Cooperation between police and the community is an important factor in creating a safe environment. Regular police patrols, combined with public participation, are expected to further restrict opportunities for criminals to commit offenses.
