LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of Labuhanbatu Selatan Police has arrested a man suspected of sexually abusing a minor girl in Kecamatan Kotapinang, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The suspect, LMS alias Rakena (23), is a hotel employee, while the victim, CNS, is now receiving support from her family and relevant authorities.
"Once we received the report, our team immediately began investigations, questioned witnesses, and inspected the location. This led to the suspect's arrest," AKP Elimawan stated on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Incident Chronology
Police investigations revealed that on Friday night, March 27, 2026, the suspect took the victim around Kotapinang city before luring her to the hotel staff quarters under the pretext of a personal relationship.
Initial examinations indicate the suspect allegedly committed immoral acts despite the victim's refusal. The victim stayed at the location for several days before returning home and informing her family about the incident.
"During interrogation, the suspect admitted to the act. Preliminary motives indicate he tried to persuade the victim under the guise of a romantic relationship," AKP Elimawan explained.
Authorities seized several pieces of evidence, including the suspect's mobile phone and a set of clothing believed to be linked to the crime. The suspect is now in custody at
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police detention center while investigators complete the case file for prosecution.

AKP Elimawan emphasized that the police will not tolerate sexual
crimes against children and will ensure a professional legal process.
"We are committed to protecting children and taking firm action against all forms of sexual abuse. There is no tolerance for offenders targeting children."
Parents and the community are urged to closely monitor children's activities and digital communications. Active community involvement is key to preventing
child sexual abuse.
"Parents should pay close attention to their children's activities and report any criminal acts immediately," added AKP Elimawan. AKP Sujono, Head of Public Relations at Labuhanbatu Selatan Police, stressed the importance of citizen participation:
"We encourage the public to contact our Call Center at 110 if they witness or experience criminal acts. Community reports are crucial in assisting police investigations."
