JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi) has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the integrity and credibility of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) recruitment process by taking firm action against an alleged fraud scheme linked to the recruitment of Bintara Polri (Police Non-Commissioned Officers) for the 2026 fiscal year.
The case allegedly involves two members of
Polda Jambi, Briptu MD and Bripda Y, who are accused of promising prospective applicants guaranteed admission into the police force in exchange for substantial sums of money.
The Professional and Internal Security Affairs Division (Bidpropam) of Polda Jambi received a public complaint regarding the alleged fraud on Sunday, August 3, 2026. Immediately after receiving the report, Bidpropam began documenting the case and launched a preliminary investigation.
Based on the initial findings, 12 individuals have reportedly fallen victim to the alleged scheme. The victims include both civilians and members of the Indonesian National Police. Investigators are still calculating the total financial losses, and the overall amount has not yet been determined.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the two suspects allegedly promised applicants they would successfully pass the recruitment process in return for cash payments.
Firm Action Against Alleged Misconduct
Polda Jambi moved swiftly by placing Briptu MD and Bripda Y in custody for questioning over alleged violations of the Polri Code of Professional Ethics. The investigation is currently being handled by Bidpropam Polda Jambi.
In addition to disciplinary and ethical proceedings, the case is also being pursued through criminal proceedings. The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of
Polda Jambi is conducting a parallel criminal investigation to thoroughly examine the alleged offenses.
Under the ongoing ethics proceedings, both officers are suspected of violating Article 10 Paragraph (4) Letter (g) of National Police Regulation No. 7 of 2022 concerning the Polri Code of Professional Ethics.
Polda Jambi emphasized that any police officer found guilty of misconduct will face strict sanctions, ranging from disciplinary measures and ethics proceedings to criminal prosecution in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Commitment to Recruitment Integrity
Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar, through Head of Public Relations Police Commissioner Erlan Munaji, stressed that the police have zero tolerance for any form of misconduct that could undermine public confidence, particularly in the recruitment of new police personnel.

According to Erlan Munaji, the decisive action reflects Polda Jambi's determination to protect the institution's integrity and ensure that every stage of the recruitment process complies with all applicable regulations.
Polda Jambi also urged the public not to trust anyone claiming they can guarantee admission into the Indonesian National Police in exchange for money.
Public Urged to Report Similar Practices

Erlan Munaji emphasized that the entire Polri recruitment process is conducted openly under the BETAH principles—Clean, Transparent, Accountable, and Humane.
"The entire Polri recruitment process follows the BETAH principles (Clean, Transparent, Accountable, and Humane). No one can guarantee admission outside the officially established procedures. Anyone who believes they have become a victim of similar practices is encouraged to immediately report the incident to Polda Jambi so that firm legal action can be taken," he said.
Polda Jambi hopes for active public participation in safeguarding the integrity of the Polri recruitment process. Members of the public are urged not to be deceived by individuals offering unofficial pathways into the police force. The police also encourage anyone with information regarding recruitment brokerage or fraudulent practices to report it immediately so appropriate legal action can be taken in accordance with the law.
