FOUR SUSPECTED DRUG DEALERS ARRESTED: The Aceh Tengah Police Satresnarkoba uncovered two methamphetamine networks operating between Aceh Tengah and Aceh Utara and arrested four suspects allegedly involved as users, dealers, and suspected suppliers.

ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Aceh Tengah Police has once again uncovered an illegal methamphetamine trafficking network with links between Aceh Tengah and Aceh Utara. In an operation directly led by Aceh Tengah Police Narcotics Investigation Chief Iptu Bambang Pelis, S.H., M.H., officers arrested four suspects with different alleged roles, ranging from users and dealers to suspected drug suppliers.

The case was uncovered on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Buge Ara Village, Ketol District, Aceh Tengah Regency. Investigators from the Satresnarkoba arrested two men identified by the initials R (36) and A (32).

During a search, police officers found several pieces of evidence allegedly linked to methamphetamine abuse activities. The confiscated items included methamphetamine consumption equipment, a digital scale, clip-sealed plastic bags, mobile phones, and a package containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.16 grams.

Investigation Leads to Cross-Regional Drug Supplier

Based on the statements obtained from the two suspects, investigators learned that the methamphetamine was allegedly supplied by AR through a man identified by the initials MR (23), who resides in Dewantara District, Aceh Utara.

Following this information, the Aceh Tengah Police Satresnarkoba launched further investigations to uncover the wider network behind the drug distribution activities.

The investigation eventually led to a breakthrough. On Monday, August 3, 2026, officers arrested MR at a coffee shop in Dewantara District, Aceh Utara.

The arrest revealed further links within the regional methamphetamine network. Police continued their investigation and identified a man with the initials SBI (46), who was allegedly acting as a supplier for AR.

Officers then moved to SBI's residence in a village in Dewantara District, Aceh Utara. During the search, police found three packages of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.36 grams.

In addition to the illegal drugs, police confiscated other pieces of evidence, including consumption equipment, clip-sealed plastic bags, a drug spoon, mobile phones, and a motorcycle allegedly used to support drug-related activities.

The interrogation of SBI provided further information regarding a larger network. SBI allegedly admitted that the methamphetamine was obtained from a man identified by the initials CH, who is believed to reside in Lhokseumawe City.

The Aceh Tengah Police Satresnarkoba is currently continuing the search for CH in an effort to break the supply chain and uncover the main actors behind the drug trafficking network.

Police Strengthen Strategy to Dismantle Drug Networks

Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., through Satresnarkoba Chief Iptu Bambang Pelis, S.H., M.H., stated that police would continue taking firm action against drug trafficking networks operating within the jurisdiction of the Aceh Tengah Police.

He emphasized that police would strengthen preventive and law enforcement measures through a "preventive strike" strategy, while also increasing communication with the public to obtain information regarding suspected drug network activities.

"We will continue carrying out preventive strike measures and build intensive communication with the community to dismantle narcotics distribution networks in Aceh Tengah," said Iptu Bambang Pelis.

According to him, the Aceh Tengah Police Satresnarkoba uncovered several drug networks during the past month, resulting in the arrests of ten suspected dealers and nine couriers, including suppliers from Bener Meriah Regency.

These actions are part of the police commitment to combating drug trafficking, which threatens the younger generation and may disrupt public security and order.

Four Suspects Undergoing Legal Process

All suspects and the confiscated evidence are currently being held at the Aceh Tengah Police Headquarters for further investigation. Satresnarkoba investigators continue to deepen the investigation to identify possible additional individuals involved in the network.

Aceh Tengah Police confirmed that the investigation will continue until all structures connected to the suspected drug trafficking network are fully uncovered.

Police also appealed to the public to actively provide information if they discover suspicious activities related to drug abuse or drug trafficking. (IDNC)
