JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - Only two weeks after taking office as Chief of Jambi City Police (Kapolresta Jambi), Police Commissioner Ananto Herlambang has already demonstrated his commitment to maintaining security and public order (Kamtibmas). One of the initiatives that has drawn public attention is the increased monitoring of activities by motorized groups considered potentially disruptive to public safety and the comfort of residents.

Ananto Herlambang conveyed this commitment during a meeting with media representatives at the Jambi City Police Headquarters (Mako
Polresta Jambi), 2nd Floor, on Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026. The meeting was attended by the Jambi City Police Chief, accompanied by Deputy Chief of Police AKBP Nurhadi and Head of Public Relations of
Polresta Jambi, Iptu Edy Hariyanto.
According to Kombes Ananto, dialogue with journalists is an important part of building cooperation between the police and media to create a stable and secure environment for the community. He emphasized that the media plays a strategic role in delivering information quickly, accurately, and objectively to the public.
"With the current development of information technology, society needs fast, accurate, balanced, and responsible information. Media coverage is very important in improving public information literacy by providing reliable information," said Kombes Ananto.
Polresta Jambi Strengthens Commitment to Public Service
On the occasion, Kombes Ananto reaffirmed that
Polresta Jambi will continue carrying out its duties as a protector, supporter, and public servant by prioritizing professionalism and transparency.
"Polresta Jambi remains committed to carrying out its duties as a protector and supporter of society in a professional, modern, and trustworthy manner. We will also continue improving transparency in every police duty so that the public can understand various efforts to maintain security and order," he stated.
He explained that maintaining security in the region cannot be achieved by the police alone. In his view, cooperation between the police, the community, and the media is the key to creating a safe and orderly environment.
"This can only be realized if all parties work together, especially by supporting each other in providing responsible news coverage and maintaining security in Jambi," emphasized Kombes Ananto.
Kombes Ananto also highlighted the important role of the media in preventing the spread of false information or hoaxes that could create unrest in society. He expressed hope that journalists would continue becoming partners of the police in educating the public.
In recent weeks, Polresta Jambi has intensified various police activities, including efforts to combat drug crimes, take action against gang-related crimes and extortion, handle various criminal cases, monitor motorized groups, and secure various public activities.
"All of these efforts certainly require support from various parties, including the media, so that information received by the public is complete and does not create unnecessary concerns. The media can continue to serve as partners in educating the community, jointly preventing the spread of misinformation or hoaxes, increasing awareness of traffic safety, and encouraging residents to work together in maintaining a safe and peaceful Kamtibmas situation," explained the Jambi City Police Chief.
