LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The commitment of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police in combating illegal drug trafficking has once again produced results. Following information submitted by the public through the Dumas Presisi service, the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police successfully uncovered a suspected methamphetamine (sabu) trafficking case in Sei Kanan District.
During the operation, officers arrested two men who were allegedly involved as
methamphetamine dealers and suppliers. In addition to securing the suspects, police also confiscated several pieces of evidence believed to be linked to the suspected drug activity.
The case was uncovered in Aman Makmur Hamlet, Hajoran Village, Sei Kanan District, South Labuhanbatu Regency, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m. WIB. The successful operation highlights the importance of cooperation between the community and law enforcement agencies in preventing the spread of illegal drugs within the jurisdiction of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police.
The two suspects arrested were JND alias Juan (36), a resident of Aman Makmur Hamlet, Hajoran Village, and BNS alias Bahrum (50), a resident of Amelia Hamlet, Hajoran Village, Sei Kanan District.
During the operation, officers seized a transparent plastic bag allegedly containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.16 grams. Police also confiscated a red Marlboro cigarette pack, which was allegedly used to store the evidence, along with a pink Vivo mobile phone believed to have been used by the suspects for communication.

Investigation Begins Following Public Report
The case began after residents submitted information through the
Dumas Presisi service regarding alleged methamphetamine trafficking activities reportedly carried out by JND alias Juan in the Aman Makmur Hamlet area.
Following the report, officers from the Satresnarkoba of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police immediately conducted covert investigations. The team gathered information, monitored the suspected location, and proceeded with law enforcement action after confirming indications of alleged drug-related activity.
During a search of JND alias Juan and the suspected transaction location, officers discovered a cigarette pack containing a transparent plastic bag filled with crystalline powder suspected to be methamphetamine.
The discovery became the basis for the investigators' initial questioning of JND alias Juan. During the examination, JND alias Juan allegedly stated that the suspected methamphetamine supply came from an individual identified by the initials BNS alias Bahrum.
Police Arrest Alleged Supplier, Expand Investigation
Based on information provided by JND alias Juan, investigators from the Satresnarkoba of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police immediately conducted further searches to locate BNS alias Bahrum.
The officers acted quickly and successfully arrested BNS alias Bahrum at another location without resistance. Following the arrest, both suspects, along with the confiscated evidence, were taken to the Satresnarkoba office of the
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police for further investigation procedures.
Investigators are continuing to examine the respective roles of each suspect involved. Police are also conducting further developments to uncover possible wider networks connected to the alleged drug trafficking operation.

AKP Sujono emphasized that the
Labuhanbatu Selatan Police remains committed to taking firm action against all forms of drug abuse and illegal narcotics trafficking.
According to him, drugs pose a serious threat, particularly to the future of the younger generation. Therefore, police efforts are not limited to taking action against offenders but also include encouraging the public to actively participate in preventing drug circulation.
He assured that the investigation into the two suspects would continue and would not end with the arrests. Police will also investigate the possibility of larger networks operating behind the case.
"We call on the entire community to work together in fighting drugs. Do not hesitate to report if you receive information regarding drug abuse or illegal drug trafficking. Active public participation is essential in creating a safe and drug-free environment," he concluded.
