JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Jambi City Police (Polresta Jambi), in collaboration with the Jambi City Government and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), has strengthened preventive measures against illegal drug trafficking and narcotics abuse through the implementation of Operation Antik Siginjai 2026 on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
The operation, directly led by Jambi Police Chief Kombes Pol. Ananto Herlambang together with Jambi Mayor Dr. dr. H. Maulana and senior officials (PJU) of
Polresta Jambi, targeted several night entertainment venues considered potential locations for narcotics abuse and illegal drug transactions.
The operation was not only aimed at uncovering possible activities linked to drug trafficking but also represented a joint effort to maintain security, public order, and community health in Jambi City. The combined team conducted comprehensive inspections of visitors, business operators, and facilities available at entertainment venues.
Enhanced Supervision of Night Entertainment Venues
The implementation of Operation Antik Siginjai 2026 proceeded in an orderly manner, with firm measures carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Officers inspected all areas of entertainment venues considered vulnerable to narcotics abuse, including the activities of visitors and operators.
In addition to searching for possible evidence related to narcotics possession or distribution, officers also monitored other violations, including business licensing issues and compliance with legal requirements in the operation of entertainment establishments.
These measures were carried out in response to the increasingly diverse methods used in illegal drug trafficking, which have now affected various segments of society, particularly the younger generation.

Operation Antik Siginjai 2026 was not merely a temporary law enforcement activity but part of an ongoing strategy to create a safe and drug-free environment in Jambi City.
"We are not working alone. Strong cooperation between the police, regional government, and all elements of society is the key to breaking the chain of illegal drug trafficking. We will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone involved, without exception and without discrimination," he said.

Government and Police Strengthen Cooperation
Jambi Mayor Dr. dr. H. Maulana appreciated the swift and decisive actions taken by the police together with Forkopimda representatives in combating narcotics abuse.
According to him, tackling the threat of narcotics requires involvement from all parties, including entrepreneurs and operators of night entertainment venues. He urged business owners to take responsibility in ensuring their establishments are not used as locations for unlawful activities.
"Entertainment venues should become positive places for recreation, not places that destroy the future of our younger generation. The city government will continue to support every law enforcement effort and strengthen supervision of permits for establishments proven to violate regulations," he emphasized.
The Jambi City Government and police authorities remain committed to continuously increasing monitoring of locations with potential risks of narcotics abuse. These efforts are expected to help create a safer environment for the community.

Operation to Continue at High-Risk Locations
During the implementation of
Operation Antik Siginjai 2026, officers found no indications of illegal drug trafficking at the locations inspected. However, all parties reminded the public not to provide any opportunity for the abuse or distribution of illegal substances.
Kombes Pol. Ananto Herlambang assured that similar activities would continue regularly and be expanded to various areas considered vulnerable to drug-related crimes.
He stated that in every operation, police officers would continue to apply the principles of humane, fair, and transparent law enforcement.
"The public is also encouraged to actively participate and report any indications of illegal drug trafficking through official police channels or the 110 police call center," Kombes Pol. Ananto Herlambang concluded.
Through this operation,
Polresta Jambi hopes to further increase public awareness regarding the dangers of narcotics and encourage active community participation in supporting security efforts, so that Jambi City remains safe and free from the threat of drug abuse.
