JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Jambi City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba Polresta Jambi) arrested six people during Operation Antik, an anti-drug operation conducted on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the Jalan Melati area, RT 30 and RT 31, Legok Subdistrict, Danau Sipin District, Jambi City.
The operation, which began at around 3:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), involved personnel from Satresnarkoba
Polresta Jambi, the Police Professional and Security Division (Seksi Propam), and the Srigala Team of Jambi City Police. The operation was carried out as part of ongoing police efforts to prevent and combat drug abuse and the illegal distribution of narcotics within the jurisdiction of
Polresta Jambi.
Jambi Police Chief Kombes Pol Ananto Herlambang, through Polresta Jambi Public Relations Officer Iptu Edy Haryanto, said officers had secured six individuals during the operation. The six people were subsequently taken to the Satresnarkoba Polresta Jambi office for further investigation and urine testing.
The examination results showed that all six individuals tested positive for narcotics. They were identified by the initials RS, RS, KS, MAY, FAP, and SR. Several of them tested positive for amphetamine (AMP) and methamphetamine (MET) traces in their urine samples.
"Six people were secured and underwent urine tests. The results showed that all of them tested positive. Some showed positive results for AMP and MET," Iptu Edy Haryanto said on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

Six People Secured During Operation Antik
Iptu Edy Haryanto explained that officers initially arrested three people in the Jalan Melati RT 30 area,
Legok Subdistrict. During searches of the three individuals, police did not find any narcotics as evidence.
However, officers discovered a knife carried by one of the arrested individuals. The sharp weapon was later secured as an additional item during the operation.
During preliminary questioning, the three individuals admitted that they had previously consumed methamphetamine, locally known as "Sabu," which they obtained from a person identified by the initial H. Police are currently conducting further investigations into H's identity and possible involvement in the alleged drug abuse case.
"Based on the initial questioning, they admitted to consuming Sabu that they received from a person with the initial H. That person is still under investigation," he said.
In addition to arresting three people at Jalan Melati RT 30, officers also found two men near the Angso Duo Bridge area and a woman whose behavior was considered suspicious.
The officers then conducted examinations of all six individuals and brought them to the Satresnarkoba Polresta Jambi office for further processing.
Urine Tests Confirm Drug Consumption
After the initial investigation, all arrested individuals underwent urine tests. Laboratory examination results confirmed that all six people had consumed narcotics.
Polresta Jambi stated that the operation was part of the police strategy to limit the activities of drug dealers, particularly in areas considered priority targets during Operation Antik.
Investigators continue to examine statements from the suspected drug users to uncover possible networks of narcotics suppliers operating in Jambi City.
Police are also continuing to follow up on information obtained during the initial questioning, including efforts to trace the person identified as H, who was mentioned as the supplier of methamphetamine.

Police Inspect Suspected Drug Activity Location
As part of Operation Antik, officers also inspected a location suspected of being a meeting point or so-called "basecamp" for drug users in the RT 31 area, Legok Subdistrict.
Police directly checked the location to identify possible activities related to narcotics abuse.
Following the inspection, officers found no narcotics evidence or indications of drug-related activities at the location.
Polresta Jambi emphasized that similar operations will continue to be carried out to maintain public security and curb the spread of illegal narcotics in Jambi City.
