DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM – The Government of Deli Serdang Regency has officially deployed 1,555 field officers for the 2026 Economic Census. The nationwide data collection will run from June 15 to August 31, 2026, aiming to comprehensively map the region's economic structure.
The official deployment ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere at the courtyard of the
Deli Serdang Regent's Office on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Regent Dr. H.
Asri Ludin Tambunan personally led the ceremony, symbolically equipping representatives of the field officers with vests and name tags.
The event was followed by a symbolic release of doves and balloons alongside members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), marking the official start of field operations.

Regent Emphasizes Importance of Accurate DataIn his address,
Asri Ludin Tambunan underlined that the 2026 Economic Census is far more than a routine
data collection exercise. He described it as a strategic foundation for both medium- and long-term
regional development planning.
He stressed that accurate and reliable data are essential for effective policymaking, highlighting the importance of honesty, precision, and integrity among enumerators.
"Missing data will lead to distortions. Your task is to capture a complete picture of the socio-economic reality of the people in
Deli Serdang," the Regent said.

Locally Based Deployment to Improve EfficiencyTo enhance operational efficiency, field officers have been assigned according to their residential locations within designated working areas. This approach is expected to improve performance while strengthening accountability at the local level.
The regional government also pledged full logistical and institutional support throughout the census period. Coordination will be carried out down to village level to ensure comprehensive coverage of households and businesses.
The Regent further noted that census results will serve as a key reference for policy decisions over the next five to ten years.
"This census is not conducted every year. It must therefore be carried out with the utmost care and responsibility," he added.
Integrity as the Key to SuccessConcluding his remarks, Asri Ludin Tambunan reiterated the importance of professionalism and honesty among all enumerators. Officers are required to record only factual data without manipulation or omission.
"Work honestly in accordance with your oath. Collect data thoroughly and accurately, both for individuals and businesses," he said.
With the launch of the 2026 Economic Census, the Deli Serdang government expects to obtain a reliable dataset to support sustainable and targeted regional development. (IDNC)
