JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM The Public Relations Division (Bidhumas) of the Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi) held the 2026 Public Relations Technical Working Conference (Rakernis Humas 2026), marking a strategic move to strengthen the communication function within the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

The event carried the theme: "Optimizing Public Communication and Media Management – Polri Presisi in Support of Police and Government Work Programs to Realize the President of the Republic of Indonesia's Asta Cita in 2026."

The conference took place on Monday, June 8, 2026, on the third floor of the Siginjai Hall at the Jambi Police Headquarters. It brought together public relations heads from district police units (Polres), communication operators, and Public Information and Documentation Management (PPID) officers across all Polda Jambi work units.

Strengthening Communication in the Digital EraPolda Jambi emphasized that public relations serves as the frontline in shaping a positive institutional image of the police in society. Rapid developments in information technology require communication personnel to be adaptive, responsive, and highly professional.

The institution also highlighted that the flood of digital information presents both opportunities and challenges, as unverified content can quickly spread and trigger public misunderstanding if not properly managed.

Several speakers from media, communication, and information sectors shared insights, including Drs. Ariansyah, M.E., Head of the Jambi Communication and Information Office; Ahmad Taufiq Helmi, S.P., M.Sos., C.Med., Chair of the Jambi Information Commission; Siri Antoni, S.Th.I., M.Si., Head of the Antara Jambi Bureau; and academic Dr. Mochammad Farisi, LL.M.

Enhancing PPID and Information ServicesPolda Jambi also highlighted the importance of the Public Information and Documentation Management (PPID) unit, which is responsible for providing fast, accurate, and legally compliant public information.

Erlan stressed that every public request must be handled professionally without unnecessary delay.

"The public must not be left without answers. Information must be properly managed according to its category—regular, immediate, or always available," he said.

War Room Optimization and Crisis ResponseTo address the rapid spread of information on social media, Polda Jambi continues to optimize its War Room system for monitoring trends, assessing risks, and issuing official statements quickly.

This initiative aims to prevent misinformation and avoid uncontrolled public crises.

Kombes Erlan also urged personnel to continuously improve their ability to analyze public issues.

"Every emerging issue that attracts public attention must be quickly identified and communicated through official channels in a polite, informative, and educational manner," he added. (IDNC)
